stories of SuperParents which made me feel so completely isolated...

negative feelings do not a bad parent make; the courage to voice my

innermost fears without feeling vulnerable or stupid; a warm place to share

successes, regardless of how small, and be reminded how much I have to feel

thankful for; an extended family. Being the moderator has given me many

gifts as well - the pride of seeing something I've created flourish; knowing

that what started as a desperate idea has become a way for me to help

others, if only by providing a safe place for them to be themselves, and the

constant reassurance that I have DONE SOMETHING with my life apart from

autism and anything else -- I have been a success.

I'm glad you sent it again, because I didn't see it the first time.

Beautifully put Jacquie, as always. I really don't think that we thank YOU

enough, but I'm glad you know that we are very thankful.

I don't know what I would do without this list. It is the only one that

helps me on a day-to-day basis. I can't say more because I'm not sure how

to say it and be understood. Just know that, in the hardest of times, you

guys have made my life livable.

Kerri, would you?

When I got the autism DX this was the first list I subbed to, I subbed to a ton

of others too. This is the only one I have left. It's been over a year, I never

felt comfortable on another list.

Last week, as I was walking up the hallway to look out my front door, I heard

voices coming through my connecting wall from my Martha neighbor's

house, the one with the GORGEOUS and clean interior that intimidated the hell

out of me and the son who roams the neighborhood all by himself at 6 years

old...

She was calling him stupid, and then she yelled, " Just get out of here! " When I

reached the door, he was on the front lawn, (he WAS wearing outdoor clothes, at

least) and the door slammed. Then it slammed open again, and his stepfather

yelled, " Should I come out and smack you now, or you want it when you come

home? "

I wanted to go over there and slap their stupid faces.

Raena,

Beautifully said and I especially agree with this last part. I love that I

can get on here and express myself, and you all completely understand!

I agree! I subbed to a bunch of others also. I wasn't quite sure what I was

looking for back then. But I must have found it because this is the only 1 of

2 lists I still belong to (and the other is just my home state autism list,

for informational purposes only). So Thank You Jacquie!!!!!!! You have a

great List. With alot of really good people.
