Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Please someone respond to me. I am not getting any better on the amrour and medrol. I am so depressed. I called my doctor and he is starting me on cymbalta. I do not know what to do because I can not deal with depression and suidal issues. They will not stop. Til my thyroid levels get better, I thought taking an anti-depressant would help get through this awful time. I don't think I will survive this. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 My favorite antidepressant is SAMe. You can get it at iHerb.com. It does not have the problems of Prozac and the other prescription antidepressants, and yet for most people it is just as effective. The primary side effects are good ones, like helping your liver. It works fine with Armour. Zoe Anti Depressants Please someone respond to me. I am not getting any better on the amrour and medrol. I am so depressed. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I have read many of the posts today, and unfortunately there is much despair and pain that many are expriencing. I would like to simply address, yet not forgo the human condition of the physical body, but please do not forget that you are just your physical body, but much much more. For within your heart dwells true divinity, that knows not of the pain of the physical and knows true joy love and compassion. I think sometimes we get so caught up (this totally includes me) in what is appearing in the physical we forget about our true nature. Of course it is absolutely necessary to do all in one's power to become healthy thru all the great technology and medicine available, however do not forget that that there are powers far greater than we can imagine to help us when things seem so very dark and desperate. Do not hesitate to call to the holy angels, they will come to your side instantly. I will also pray for you to Mother for you comfort and assistance. Though it may not appear at this moment, your life is PRECIOUS, and things will get better, please have hope, it these things too shall pass. mem_mem_me wrote: Please someone respond to me. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 It sounds like you had a thyroid dump. I had no way of knowing this on the main list, because you didn't tell us that you'd taken HC. NOW you know why we say to start it S L O W L Y and reduce or even stop the Armour before beginning. You will be fine! Just reduce the Armour, and since you probably had a thyroid dump, you probably need that HC ... but follow 's instructions this time, okay? {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Deborah mem_mem_me wrote: > > Please someone respond to me. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Deborah I found your comments very reasurring, it sounds like you have been down this path a while. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I wouldn't say that I'm doing GREAT yet, but I will be! It'll take some time. I was hypo with adrenal fatigue symptoms for 30 years and it'll take a while to heal. I'm on 4-3/4 grains Armour and 15mg HC right now. I just dropped the HC from 20, after being on 30mg for about 6 months, and 20mg for a few months before that. I joined the main NTH group in March last year, I think ... started Armour May 1, etc etc ... :-) Deborah duane dorman wrote: > Deborah > > I found your comments very reasurring, it sounds like you have been > down this path a while. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Deborah, Forgive me if I already asked you this, but how has adding HC been for you? HAve you had any wierd side effects - weight gain etc? SAMMIE --- Deborah Jacques wrote: > I wouldn't say that I'm doing GREAT yet, but I will > be! It'll take some > time. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 My total T4 and T3 were both below range. Cortisol wasn't tested until after I'd been on Armour for over 3 months, and it was around 13.5 right after we'd had a disagreement at the doc's office, gone a mile or so to the lab, watched my husband and daughter have approximately 30 tubes of blood drawn from each, and the tube come disconnected from its cap when they were drawing from my husband, spraying blood all over the place. All without having eaten, and having been up for a while during the night because we were in a strange place, HOPING for a doc who would help us. I'd guess that my cortisol would have been lower without all the drama. ;-) According to women should have AM cortisol of at least 20, and men's needs to be higher--I don't remember exactly what he recommended. 25, maybe? Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 All that HC did was help me, dramatically! I was able to use the Armour I was taking, so I lost weight. I was able to safely and slowly increase my Armour. My adrenals have had a chance to rest and heal, so now I'm weaning off of it with no problem whatsoever. I seriously don't believe that the low doses we take can have the side effects listed for the stuff, simply because we are replacing what our adrenals are unable to make. If taking it orally would have those side effects, so would having normally functioning adrenal glands. Make sense? Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Yes! I feel so much better about switching to HC. I was worried, but not now. Thanks! Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Thanks you and ditto. That is what keeps me going and my precious daughter. My blood work showed that my T3 and T4 was over the top of the range. I have been hyper thyroid and did not even realize it. I get this way when I am hyper. I have hashi's and I bounce back and forthe . It is so difficult to deal with Thanks Ellen- -- In NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS , duane dorman wrote: > > I have read many of the posts today, and unfortunately there is much despair and pain that many are expriencing. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 GOOD!!! Cuz if you need it, it's more dangerous NOT to take it than the side effects could be. Deborah Sammie Baker wrote: > Yes! I feel so much better about switching to HC. I > was worried, but not now. > > > Quote
Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 There are lots of potential side effects, but only at the high doses prescribed for inflammation. Not for the low doses we use. If you want to see what they are, you can do a search and find it pretty easily. Deborah Pamela wrote: > Deborah, > > What are the side effects of taking HC? > > > Quote

Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Deborah, This reply was for Ellen right? I am confused when you refer to the other site and having not told that they'd taken HC. You did answer my post on the other site, but I didn't write the post regarding Medrol. I felt crazy BEFORE I took any HC, but didn't seem to experience any dump that I can tell. Just seemed profoundly better today. Kris > > > > > Please someone respond to me. I am not getting any better on the > > amrour and medrol. I am so depressed. Guest guest Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Me too, I am hoping I can take Armour or Thryolar as I continue to build my adrenals, as noted I am using Isocort, but really feel like HC would be much better.
