Guest guest
We know that 80 percent of children today with mental illnesses are not getting any treatment. Suicide in fact is the 3rd leading cause of death among young people ages 15 to 24, constituting an even broader public health crisis. How do they know this???? That 80% of children with mental illness aren't being treated? Who said they were mentally ill? This jackass is still trying to cover his butt incase some kid he dopes kills himself. We're right back to the old blah blah about how people kill themselves because of their MI and not the drugs that drove them to it. Guest guest
Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Duckworth - I like your comments better - you should send them to him. le's mom Send me his e-mail address and I'll drop him a note. Your letter was very good. Better than I could write, actually. I tend to go for their jugular. Then I wind up in an e-mail fest with them as they attempt to salvage what's left of their ego. Guest guest
Hi Glitter Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Duckworth - I like your comments better - you should send them to him. le's mom Dear Dr. Duckworth I am surprised that you would say SSRI's are the best treatment for depression in children. Most clinical trials, (the ones the pharmas hid) show that a placebo works as well or better than the drug with out any side effects. Also, Duke University proved that exercise works better and longer than Zoloft for depression in depressed people. In our public schools, the first thing that was cut was Physical Education. So what do we have now - a bunch of fat, depressed kids whose only exercise is moving the index finger on a mouse or TV remote control. In addition they consume large amounts of sugary soft drinks and high fat junk food - hardy a prescription for good mental or physical health. Our kids don't need brain altering drugs - they need a healthy diet and daily cardiovascular exercise!
