Who is going to FNCE?

For the first time, I'm not sure about appropriate attire (aka " What to wear " )

at FNCE.

In the past I knew it was " professional " (which for me is slacks and blouse,

maybe with a blazer or sweater if it was chilly). For a couple of conferences,

I didn't have to worry about what to wear, since I'm in the USAFR and I was in

uniform (most recently in St. Louis).

But in Hawaii, " professional " is just not sitting right. I'm not talking flip

flops, but I'm almost in the mood to wear cotton shorts and a floral shirt (I

already have a collection of Hawaiian shirts) and tennis shoes. The only

" lightweight " slacks I own are hospital scrubs.

What are you wearing?

Holly:

I'm wearing 100% cotton stuff every day. I'm taking my

tropical prints, " resort " wear type stuff-capri pants,

etc. Don't forget the " muu-muu " .

FYI Hawai’i ’s Dress Code

Information on attire that was included in the letter

for FNCE speakers:

" Hawai'i's culture and its tropical climate has

influenced a relaxed dress code throughout the day.

With that in mind, we recommend business casual and

resort casual wear for all of our FNCE participants

and attendees.

For other occasions for which you want to dress up a

bit, men can consider khakis or chinos (or other

tropic-weight slacks) with loafers, polo or golf

shirts and perhaps a sport jacket.

Women also can consider khakis or chinos, with a

dressier top (with or without a tropic-weight jacket)

or nice sundress and sandals. "
