Guest guest
I'd like to introduce myself: I am 40-year female with few medical codintions (hypothyroid, hypoglycemia, anxiety problems) and recently I have decided to quit on my anxiety medication (celexa 20mg /day). I am on celexa since February this year for my constant chest pain and pressure. My doc have done all checkups on my heart and decided to put me on anxiety pill. He told me it's not habit forming and I can be on it as long as I need to. Lately I felt extemely sleepy at work and I do believe it's because this medication (celexa). Also - I am at much calmer mental stage than I was few mohts ago so I don't think I should be on anxiety pill anymore... too bad I already have to have pill for having problems with my thyroid, so I do not want to poison my body even more with all those chemicals.... so I started lowering my dosage of celexa (went from 20 mg to 15 mg for 2 weeks and this week I started on 10 mg which I plan to be on for another 2 or 3 weeks).... so far I do not experience any dramatic symptoms from withdrawal except ... (and I don't even know if this has anything to do with withdrawal symptoms)... I am hungry all the time or at least I feel hypoglycemic very often, need to eat something like every 2 hours, I do sweat a lot, am very sleepy and sometimes moody. My biggest concersn right now is this: does cutting off celexa influence sugar level in blood? (=> constant hunger)...and also is gaining weight or water retention one of other symptoms normal at this stage? (I am very careful with my diet so even when hugry I don't go overboard and suprisingly - I never have gained any weight while on celexa... it's only now when cutting I started to get some...extra weigth). Thank you for listening me Dana
