Re: Re: Anybody have feedback on

Remeron?

This is because of the differences in P450 enzymes in people. While I may

have plenty of 2C9 and handle drugs well that interact with that enzyme,

another person may have seizures taking the same dose I did because they

lack 2C9 enzymes.

catherine, on the prozactruth website it's claimed that there are tests to

see how well you metabolize the drugs, or how much of these enzymes you

have; is this true?

thanks!

Dear Greg,

** All these drugs were founded on false premises. All will cause brain

changes that may be permanent. Animal testing shows DNA changes as well.

I want to give an example here. Let's say someone said:

" Should I take Atenolol for high blood pressure? How does it work for

you guys? "

You would find mixed responses. That is because people are different in

the way they metabolize drugs. This is made very obvious by the

antidepressant drugs.

All of you know someone who doesn't believe you are having/had the

difficulty you did with the drug you took because they took it and had no

problems while on it and very little difficulty discontinuing it.

This is because of the differences in P450 enzymes in people. While I may

have plenty of 2C9 and handle drugs well that interact with that enzyme,

another person may have seizures taking the same dose I did because they

lack 2C9 enzymes.

I'm explaining this mostly because of Joe's response that Remeron doesn't

work. I'm not saying it does, and I'm certainly not advocating for its use,

but one cannot decide how a drug will be for them based on others'

experiences. It's also important to remember that very few of the P450

enzymes can be tested for right now and for those that can be tested I know

of no insurance company that will pay. This means that when it comes to

psychotropic drugs you are playing Russian roulette. A certain drug may not

bother you at all or it is just as likely to give you numerous adverse

effects and causing damage to your brain and body.

** At this time, only three of these can be tested for. Most of these

drugs interact with more than one enzyme and in most cases one of the

enzymes is one for which we haven't a test.

BTW, this costs $600 to test for the three that can be tested for ($450

for two, $250 for one). Most people can't afford this and at this time

insrance companies don't cover it.
