Casey,

I understand your anger and frustration. I'm new to this list and my negative experiences have to do with Celexa. I have a lot of anger, too, made worse by the fact that some people who are very dear to me think I'm just using Celexa as an excuse for what I went through while on it and while I was coming off it, and how it affected me adversely. It hurts me beyond belief. However, I have found it helpful to channel my anger and hurt through writing a blog. Trying to raise peoples' awareness in this way of what I went through has been somewhat helpful. At the very least, it's a daily release for my frustrations and hurt. Some people are so close-minded that they'll never accept any explanation, though.

Well, I sent letters and e-mails to all my local politicians,

congressmen, and senators concerning what Lexapro has done to me. I

haven't heard back and I started calling them today.

On the other hand, I have tried calling lawyers. It seems there are

only cases related to suicide and they are only with Paxil and

Zoloft right now. One firm had tried a Paxil withdrawal suit, but

had it dismissed. I am also considering some sort of medical

malpractice for the hospital that made me go through Ativan

withdrawals cold turkey, but that probably wouldn't do anything.

I am so filled with rage over how my brain has been damaged, but

feel futile in trying to focus it in a productive fashion. I don't

want anyone to have to go through what I have went through.

Anyways, any suggestions of channeling this rage. How do some of you

go about trying to get the word out beyond just posting on these

message boards. Thanks

Casey

Thanks, I know I can go one of two ways. I feel like total crap

every day. Before I let it get me depressed. It still does, but

instead I have tried to turn some of that to anger. I figure that

isn't as damaging and can be more productive. If I continue to feel

like this in a few months, well, then all bets are off.

Writing to your "elected officals" is certainly channeling

your anger/rage in a productive manner because your are

educating them. Posting your stories on Groups like this

is definitely helpful because you never know who you are

going to reach directly by sharing your story, or even

indirectly, meaning like someone's friend or relative with

a similar side-effect story.

I find it more helpful for my anger/rage level to spend

my time and energy talking to those who understand, who

have walked the shoes because I feel validated, recognized,

and acknowledged for the truth. Some people will never

believe these "approved" drugs could cause these side-effects.

So I move on and spend my time, energy, and resources with

those will will listen and not drain me. Nothing could be

worse than feeling drained or being perceived as trying to

be "right" or needing to "win". I'm not trying to prove

right or winning ... in any discussion. I'm only delivering

truthful facts. Some ears will hear, some won't.

The recent FDA investigations shout to the public about

the truth. Those are great tools ... and keep YOU from

getting worn down. Use that same energy instead, for

your healing!!! Get selfish and focus on healing. Those

that hurt you and all of us .... will see the healed US

someday and that in itself is proof about the toxic nature

of these drugs..... now labelled with "black box warnings".

Just me.... Jan
