No. There's nothing. Hopefully, the physician who performs your EMG will be swift. It's not torture but milding uncomfortable. I've experienced it personally. Best wishes....

EMG Test

Thanks, Sherry. Is there anything I can do to prepare myself? Perhaps it won't be so bad having this done in my arms.

I had an EMG last summer, when we were searching for answeres to my leg tingling, pain, and weakness. That hurt like heck!!! I was so angry at that Dr. My nerves were too sensitive at the time, every stimulous created a painful sensation. This was also the Dr. who told me that in his opinion I had nothing wrong with me and that I needed to seek psychiatric help. He said, I was imagining my symptoms. Good luck, I hope you have a much better experience then I did. _00_ <5678@...> wrote: No. There's nothing. Hopefully, the physician who performs your EMG will be swift. Has anyone had this: know about it?? It is an eletrical shock test to locate any non-responsive nerves. Having it done to one arm & one leg. The Nuero Dr said is is an uncomfortable, even painful test that takes a while. My B-12 levels are up yet the benefits of the B-12 injections only last a few hours. So tired of tests, wish I could wait till TX is over . I actually canceled the Edoscpopy till TX over- just couldn't fast/no water that long..

Trudy I had one many years ago and my son had one earlier this year.  Mine was for a back issue and they were checking the nerve damage to my legs.  My son had a nerve stuck in his elbow that they had to surgically release.  He said the test wasn't too bad.  It's not like sticking your wet finger in an electric socket or anything.. it's small electrical shocks.  They can cause minor quick pains but nothing you can't tolerate..  well, it might be worse on tx.   Why are they doing an EMG?

I know the I don't want to ever see another doctor feeling well.  I would like it if just one of them would say " You are just fine..  have a great day and it was such a joy to see you that I'm not even charging you for the visit " .  Dreaming huh?

HaHa!! You are dreaming LoL. Iam seeing so many drs on several issues... and actually, I wish they could give me a definitive answer just once. They never have an answer and after a while I start doubting myself( then " it" kicks in & I have no doubt). This is about the increasing numbness in feet and hands. Also intense nerve fiber pain through out my body. It is the same pain as with shingles, just not a severe-cause that was BAD,had shingles when I was 21. Mow just the nerve ending with no sores. I finally got my B12 up but the effect on my hands and nerves is very fleeting, only about 12 hours after each shot. Anyway, I want to tell all just to stop till after TX...one thing at a time. But this numbness( my extremities go from dead cold and white to dead and dark blue. You can actually see the blue creeping along) can't wait, I suppose. I am drinking my water and juices. But

the hernia( whatever) won't letme get it down. After a while I just loose it( throat burns from trying to get it to go down) but then I just drink more. It is why I can't have the broth in souls... I always have to pour it off. Yeah.,that is another thing I put off till after TX....endoscopy required too much total fasting for now, need my flies & my blood sugar iscrashing about every two hrs. Any way, that's the long version of my story. Frustrating, it's just all too much for this weak and tired lady.http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877d " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx On Oct 25, 2010, at 1:00 PM, Theresa Gottlieb <theresagottlieb@...> wrote:

You've had that problem with your hands for awhile too.   The EMG you can handle.. I agree on putting the upper and lower GI off til after you are thru with treatment..  that's hard on someone who isn't going thru treatment...  couldn't imagine doing it while on tx.. although I think ny just did.

Hang in there pretty lady..  have a glass of water on me would ya?
