Guest guest
Does anyone know of any guidelines for non-fasting lipid levels for a patient on continuous tube feeding? The M.D. does not want to hold TF to obtain a fasting lipid panel.
Guest guest
I don't think you need to hold the feeding for that. With TPN pt we also order lipid panel w/o holding it. Fasting might be more accurate, but any panel is better then non. a 400 trig or chol will nor drop to 120 after fasting. but if you get 140 Trig and 200 chol is not too bad either and will just make it a better case for you to ask to hold feeding, to give a more reliable picture, before further intervention. That's the way I look at it. Non fasting lipid panel in continuous tube feeding Does anyone know of any guidelines for non-fasting lipid levels for a patient on continuous tube feeding?
