Anybody using E-FAx, a free internet service? efax.com

Any comments? Like it, hate it? Recommendations?

TIA,

(On solar power, so don't want to leave a fax machine on 24 hours a day, wasting power. Rant: If the rest of the country wasted less power, our country wouldn't have to build new powerplants or have massive black-outs.)

Doug

I went to the web site and cannot figure out how this is free? Can you help me understand how this works and how it is free?

I signed up for just www.efax.com which is free to receive faxes, but charges you a fee to send faxes.

Jan,

I have e-fax service. My local phone company used to have a similar

service and discontinued it. I was really excited to find that

someone else was doing the same thing.

My fax number is a Washington State area code, though I live in

Arizona. I could pay to get a fax number in my area code, but it

hasn't seemed to cause confusion so I have not done so.

In exchange for receiving free faxes, you must agree to receive the

email promotions from the company providing the service.

If you want to send faxes, you do have to pay for that.

I like it because I use less paper this way and can store faxes in my

computer filing system.

It's worth a try to see if you like it, since it's free.
