My friend and I bought a share in a local CSA. It is awesome. I never know what I am cooking until I get my goodies on Saturday morning. Local chefs give their recipes to the farm so we know what to do with the more unusual items.

I had forgotten how food was supposed to taste!

CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture". It is a small, family-owned, organic farm that sells shares. I pay $100 a month in advance (I share with a friend) and every Saturday my bag of goodies is ready for pick up. We've had edible flowers, fresh herbs, all kinds of greens, omega 3-supplemented eggs, native green onions, citrus...it's really fun! The food is always fresh-picked so the quality is good, the nutrient value is higher, and it tastes better. I also pay a lot less than I would for the same amount of food from the local grocery store.
