Hello im fairly new here, but now feel comfortabel to write to the

group.

I myself was diagnosed on the spectrum at age 42, my husband

not long after at 39.

We have a son who is age 7 he was diagnosed with

autism and development delay at age 2, and we have 3 daughters , the

youngest being diagnosed at 12 with aspergers.

I have read recent

postings , about being NT and autistic, well in my family , ive

taught my family and still do say to them, we are all unique! and

who or what is normal, who is the judge.

Who as the right to say what is

acceptable and what isnt , i have a family who are all diffrent from

genuises to the younger ones that struggle to write their name . But

each one is made to feel proud and special as they each achieve at

their level.

And each individual is validated on their acheivements ,

not compared to each other or anyone else outside the family.

I dont

believe in any therapies, or drugs .Love and encouragement is the key

why change what god as created in its own right .A person who

contributes something to this world no matter how large or small it

may be.

Sorry to ramble on , its one of my ways, ill be quiet now :)

Are there other bears in your family? Please don't feel you

need to be quiet. At least hum. I know bears like to hum.

The vast majority of my family is bears (some of whom can

be seen on my web site).

" There's always room for another bear, " as they say in the

bear-world, and I'm sure it's true here, too.

Welcome here.

Autism for me personally is a way of life, not to be

alterd to suit anyone or anything, it is a way of being, and the

sooner we and others except this ,the better we can all find ways of

relating and communicating ,and enjoying one anothers company online

or in reality.

It is interesting the way inwhich you phrased that because, Though I am

online, I am very very in reality. We all are real here online.

Kim, 39 aspergers.
