I am 16, test cortisol deficient from Great Smokies (saliva test), and I feel much better on Cortef, other than that I'm having some skin breakouts (she is normally blessed with perfect alabaster skin-JDJ). I also started 15mg of Armour Thyroid recently, but the pimples came before I started that, though they are worse now than before.'s daughter AliWow! These are amazing stories, . It would never have occurred to me that a cat could be so badly affected by tap water. I wonder what is happening to us.... I also have three cats on Pred right now, one with Armour! But one is a temp thing for eye inflammation the other two are permanent. One i adopted very young form a vet I worked for he was about to put her to sleep as she tore her back open constantly. He tried everything to stop it. 2.5MG pred a day and she is fine! My hypothyroid kitty take 5MG a day and is starting to lose weight with 10 Grains Armour a day! He gets rodent ulcers (bad mouth sores) from drinking ANY tap water. I believe it is the chlorine as i am also sensitive to it, but it could be the fluorine too. As long as he gets bottles Spring water, he is fine. Quote
Guest guest Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 My 18yr old son has truly horrid cystic acne - nothing conventional medicine could touch. Finally after reading Jeffries book I put him on 20 mg/HC day (10/5/5) - when he's not stressing with school/film work, his skin is improving markedly! he's also on 4 grains. My 15 yr dd is at 3.75 grains & armour has helped with her skin. So maybe it's just that with the help of the cortef her system is cleaning itself (resulting in bad skin) and with some more armour it will clear up?
