Guest guest
Dear Cheryl, You said: << Does anyone ever use the Chat room in withdrawal and Recovery? I was thinking that could log in there and maybe use " voice " . He's never used that feature before, nor have I, but I think he'd try it.>> ** I don't think the Voice Chat feature is used often. It requires a duplex sound card and a microphone. I have neither. What about spellcheck for ? Regards,
Guest guest
Maybe we can try to set something up? I know it would do him good to connect personally with others who've experienced what he's going through. We'll have to figure out how it works? I'm pretty sure our computer is set up for it..we have the little microphone looking thing. I've got to go for now..will be back later.. Blessings~~ Cheryl > it hasn't been used that i know of but i think it would be cool to > try. also instant messaging could be helpful. > -joe
Guest guest
Yes, spellcheck would help..I tried encouraging him yesterday afternoon to familarize himself (just a bit) with the computer. is very reluctant to " learn " ...he's not had good experiences in the past, school was a major NIGHTMARE for him...loads of critisism and teasing, and has (in his opinion) mostly failed at " new " things. He does at least agree that him inter-acting with you all would be better for him than me being a " middle man " ...normally it wouldn't be this difficult and with encouragement he'd give it a try. It's just he's so very frustrated with this entire situation that trying to convince him to get on the computer is seen as just another frustrating task. I believe he'll try it eventually, and when he does he'll see it's not so hard...and that'll be a good thing. Cheryl > ** I don't think the Voice Chat feature is used often.
