Hi everyone,

I am also a member of the NTH board and have just joined this group

today. I am taking 1.5 grains of Thyroid, the Canadian version of

Armour. Things are starting to improve. The thing is, at my Dr's

appointment last week, she told me that my adrenals aren't working

properly, based on a cortisol blood test I had done for another

doctor. (She actually recommended saliva testing, I just don't have

loads of money, so since blood testing is free to me in Canada, we

are trying that out first)

Anyway, she prescribed the following for the next little while:

- 8 capsules of cod liver oil per day

- a multivitamin

- a B-Complex 100 (1 pill per day)

- Floradix Iron (my ferritin is quite low)

She is having me do blood hormone tests on day 22 of my cycle (next

Friday) to confirm the estrogen dominance/low progesterone she

suspects, but she has not given me any cortisol, and I forgot to ask

about it.

Until I can see her again, can you suggest anything I can

do/eat/take to help my adrenals? I'm already trying to drink as

much carrot juice as possible for the Vitamin A, and I'm trying to

make sure I get enough sleep, and I have cut out caffeine, but I'm

not sure what else to do beyond that. Any suggestions would be

welcomed.

Also, I have EXTREME air hunger which seems to get even worse just

before my period. Do any of you have this experience and can you

attribute it to your adrenals?

Thanks!
