Guest guest
Hi everyone! Into week number three and my biggest challenge is that after beginning my BFL workouts I keep waking up in the middle of the night, In bed by 10pm and usually wide awake around 3am and not able to go back to sleep. It is driving me nuts!! Any ideas on why and if there are any supplements I can take? I know it has to be related to the workouts because it didnt happen before this....(Benadryl and melatonin make me groggy) thanks! Guest guest
Hiya: I have the same problem, but then... I've always had insomnia issues. I've found that one dose of Sominex one night will help get me back on track. It is the ONLY one that doesn't give me a " hangover " the next day. Benadryl and melatonin make me miserable. I've also read that things like watching tv and sitting at the computer before bed can cause problems because it messes with your body's sense of what time it is (artificial " daylight " from the monitors). I'd recommend trying a dull book + Sominex. Sometimes tea helps, too (non-caffeinated herbal teas, like camomile). Good luck! -Lianne > > Hi everyone! > > Into week number three and my biggest challenge is that after > beginning my BFL workouts I keep waking up in the middle of the > night, In bed by 10pm and usually wide awake around 3am and not able > to go back to sleep. Guest guest
Could it be due to worry? It can not only make it hard to go to sleep but can wake you up in the middle of the night. Guest guest
Kragmonius, I've spend the last 4 nights lying awake trying to think of how to best answer your question. ...Last night, I went to bed early, thought about winning this $215 mil. Powerball lottery instead, and slept like a tired baby! There have been times where my cycles have been " off " , but, it only lasts for a couple of days, and then I am back to normal. If you can't sleep, take advantage of the extra time and start your exercise early. Get a jump start on the day, and by evening, after the first day or two of this extra time, you too will be sleeping like a tired baby. Ixnay on the drug-say! Just say no to artificial stuff! If you need them for other medical reasons, use 'em. If you are just wired about losing sleep, then don't lose sleep over not losing sleep! Make good use of the time and your body will eventually take advantage of the rest you will be allowing it to take. If you happen to be taking any of the thermogenic type of supplements to aid in your fat breakdown, be aware they often contain lots of stimulants and should be introduced very slowly, if at all, into your system. Enjoy the extra energy! Take advantage of the progress! Remember... Progress, not perfection!
