Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Cherie, If you passed the spit test (no milky blobs or particles) chances are you don't need Fungal Defense. .. . Taking a small amount of Primal Defense may help regardless. . . If you herx to it, start slow and take it longer. . . . Primal defense is made of organisms taken from the soil that we would normally get from our foods if it wasn't treated with herbicides, pesticides and processed. These organisms are essential to good health. If you'll check www.curezone.com, you can read about various types of liver flushes. The idea is that all your blood passed through your liver, removing toxins from it. If everything was optimal (no toxins in environment, foods, medicines, etc.) everything would be fine. But, if more toxins accumulate that your liver can process and eliminate, you can become sick . .. . even develop liver cancer. Liver flushes encourage the liver to release these toxins. This allows the liver to do a better job, and should help you feel better too. Liver flushes can be slow and gentle, or quick and somewhat intense. The intense ones may make you feel flu-like and near the toilet for a day, but, IMHO, the results are well worth it! . . . Read up on liver flushes, then ask away. . . The ladies here have tried a number of them and will be happy to share! Hugs, Rogene Quote
Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Hi Cherie - I've got the same dilemma - I bought the Fungal and Primal Defense, and keep looking at them, but so far have not tried them. I notice when I " slip " regarding my diet, I end up suffering for it as well. I noticed Garden of Life has a detox product, and I'm trying to find the site that said it was specifically for detox - but for some reason I think the product was called Superseed. I'll keep looking to see where I read about a GOL product that said it was for detoxing. Anyway, I bought something called " Heavy Metal Detox " from Nature's Sunshine, which is a reputable company that I dealt with in the past when I had health issues and nothing else worked - and one of the ingredients is Cilantro, and I read that Cilantro is excellent for liver detox. Maybe when you're juicing, you can add fresh cilantro to the juice and see if that helps. Of course I haven't tried it yet - because my body is so sensitive to everything I just haven't gotten the nerve to try any of these products yet. That can be purchased online as well. I certainly don't have the knowledge that many on this site have, so if anyone has any other suggestions, I know I'd benefit from them as well as Cherie. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Hi Cherie, I think our relapses are just part and parcel of the whole autoimmune experience, or the immune system upset that we have endured as a result of our exposure. I am not so sure that a specific indulgence into treats over a weekend will bring on sudden flares, although with food allergies, certainly it can. I just know that my flares and exacerbations were relatively steady over a period of about 4 years, and I could never figure out the " trigger. " It just happened. Those flares gradually got fewer and fewer in occurence, and shorter and shorter in duration over time. Perhaps that is how you will heal as well. Patience and tenacity will really be helpful to you as you go through it! I did try to figure out if I had any food allergies, and found out that I had some that developed after I got implants, so it may be a good idea to see if you can determine what you may be allergic to and avoid those foods. Common ones are chocolate, eggs, dairy, and wheat. Otherwise, there are foods that are inflammation-promoting that I think we should be cautious with. Like large consumption of animal fats (saturated fats), also trans fats (hydrogenated oils) and processed foods, . Sugar is a biggy, which we should try to avoid, but I have to admit that during my healing process there were many instances that I failed and indulged in it. After all, life happens and there are many reasons to celebrate with loved ones! So I think we can be focused on eating the right foods, but understand that it is okay to indulge once in awhile. We don't need to keep batting ourselves over our heads over our failures. There's alot of trial and error in figuring out what makes us feel worse when it comes to foods, so don't stress out over it too much. You're doing the best you can, and I think you're doing great! You may want to use the Fungal Defense (one bottle) just to be on the safe side and then get right into the Primal Defense. It won't hurt to just have that insurance on your side. Happy New Year Cherie! Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Cherie - have you noticed any corelation with your menstrual cycles and how you feel? I've gone off the pill and haven't gotten a period yet (and I might not, since I was on the pill to replace hormones after early menopause), however I noticed when I was on the pill that my symptoms got worse towards the end of my cycle, maybe a week before my period. I felt good when I had my period, and felt somewhat ok for another week, but then it seemed that I started going downhill about mid-cycle. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Sis, I can second that experience. I always seemed to struggle that week before my period. Hormones have played a big, big part of this mess. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I think you are right on with the hormones, as I had PMS all week, and just got my period yesterday. I do think they coincide, but I seem to get my period so frequently anymore, that I couldn't be sure. Everything feels worse the day before!! > > > > > > > > Hi - feeling pretty bad again and trying to make some > decisions > > on > > > > Primal Defense, Fungal Defense, liver detox etc. I know you > > have > > > all > > > > told me so much, and until know I didn't do anything about > it. > > > Someone > > > > told me about liver detox, and I can't remember what in > > particular > > > I > > > > should take. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I do always wonder what my triggers are, and learn as time goes on. I have known for a while that I have an unusual reaction to food allergies - I sneeze (big time) and get asthmatic. All it takes is one Hershey Kiss - or any piece of chocolate - so set me of for HOURS of relentless sneezing and blowing! I know I have other food allergies and think they play a big part in my chronic sinus problems. I remember doctors telling me that I would absolutely not sneeze from a food allergy - but I know first hand that they are wrong. I'm the same way with any over-the-counter pain killer as well. I have eliminated regular sugar from my diet, but do have a tsp of organic sugar in my tea, and I love my fruit juices (that I make myself). Patty, I do keep reminding myself that it took you four years - and that was after only a short time with implants. Do you take the Primal Defense regularly? This trial and error time can be expensive - what with so many different supplements. Sis, my juicer is not an expensive one because I wanted to make sure I would use it and not let it sit on the shelf. Turns out I am using it - since my surgery - twice a day, faithfully! Eventually I will switch to a better model. I think there is a lot of wastage though. By the way, I love to bicycle too, and can't wait till spring to get back on it. I have a hybrid bike - pretty comfortable. Thanks guys, Cherie > > > > Hi - feeling pretty bad again and trying to make some decisions on > > Primal Defense, Fungal Defense, liver detox etc. I know you have > all > > told me so much, and until know I didn't do anything about it. > Someone > > told me about liver detox, and I can't remember what in particular > I > > should take. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Cherie - did your allergies come on after you got the implants, or did you have them beforehand? You know, Cherie, since we seem to be on a similar schedule as far as our healing goes - it's possible we'll notice a change when the seasons change to Spring. I know I've posted that when I have a chronic problem, that major changes take place when the season changes from Winter to Spring. Sis > > > > > > Hi - feeling pretty bad again and trying to make some decisions > on > > > Primal Defense, Fungal Defense, liver detox etc. I know you > have > > all > > > told me so much, and until know I didn't do anything about it. > > Someone > > > told me about liver detox, and I can't remember what in > particular > > I > > > should take. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Sis, I also experienced that! Spring was always better for me than winter. Also, is it a coincidence that I developed an allergy to chocolate after implants?!? Just like you Cherie! I had another woman tell me she was suddenly allergic to chocolate after implants too. Weird, huh? Cherie, I take the Primal Defense like crazy lately. I was on two different antibiotics during the month of December, one for my root canal issues and the other for the UTI I got from taking the first antibiotic. (Isn't that the craziest thing?) Ever since I finished my last pill, I've been popping the Primal Defense like mad to repopulate my gut with the good guys. I can definitely tell a difference. I had some abdominal pain going on from the antibiotics, and the Primal Defense seemed to help alot with that. I take it on an empty stomach in the morning, before bed, and during the day when I can. Currently, I am starting a new detoxing program for 2006 to start out on the right foot. I did indulge over the holidays, so it is time to get back on track. I am actually looking forward to feeling great and losing a little weight again! Those 2006 New Years resolutions...now if I can only keep it up after the inspiration of the new year wears off. Continue to remind yourself of the need to be patient Cherie. You're doing great. I know it is not any fun, and I know you want to feel better now, but if you take one day at a time and trust that God knows exactly wha you need in each moment, you will make it. It's the hardest road I had to travel, but like me, someday you will be able to look back and see the awesome hand of God working in your life in amazing ways. And you will be able to let your suffering be a distant memory. God bless you! Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I have actually always had allergies - they are worse, but I can't say for sure it is from the implants. To say my immune system is very mixed up - that would be from the implants. I sure hope spring brings changes. I do feel down - mostly in the evenings - and I realize that it is seasonal. I'm an outdoor person, and having my windows all closed up and the cold dark weather really gets to me. I would like to reschedule lunch - my schedule is pretty free again now that the kids are back in school. Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Thanks Patty - I am going to order the Primal Defense at this point - I'm not sure about the fungal - I guess it couldn't hurt. Do you sneeze with food allergies too? Do you order the Primal Defense online? Thanks for the inspiration - As rough as this is, I really feel that God has me right where I need to be right now - eventually I'll see what the purpose is!! I'm so glad you're here - I really appreciate you! Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I appreciate you too Cherie! I never really had sneezing fits with chocolate, although I did notice some increased sneezing at times. The most signficant thing I noticed was that after eating certain foods, or eating too much (like when going to our famous buffets here in Las Vegas, which we've done with guests), my sinuses gets very suddenly inflammed and I sound very nasal when speaking. It is so noticeable that my mother even made a comment to me about it when it happened in her presence. I never had any other sinus issues but those. Very strange, and I have no idea why it happens so quickly while eating, other than food allergies. I think the Primal Defense will be a good addition to your arsenal for healing, Cherie! Have a great evening, and stay warm! Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Cherie, we're definitely in the same boat right now. I'll have some good days and my hopes will rise, and then I'll have some bad days and wonder if I'll ever be normal again. Not for a minute do I doubt that the implants are to blame for this, though. I bought the Primal Defense at the Vitamin Shoppe - and their prices were the same as those I've seen online at various sites. Maybe next week we can get together for lunch. Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Sis - I think you are right. I don't doubt either that the implants were the cause, especially that I was senstive to so many things to begin with. Next week sounds good - any particular day better?
