Thanks for your nice letter. As I've explained to Andy, I think I was

too preachy in my letter and I didn't explain that I wanted to get

others opinions on this, since I was frustrated with the plan. It

came off, in my letter, sounding as if I had it all figured out and

Bill's plan was all wrong...I'm sorry for that, as that wasn't my

intention.

I'll have to admit that I had never heard of the " down side " of the

Food Pyramid. Kinda spooky if the government has a hand in this,

trying to get us to " buy more of this, or buy more of that " !!! It's a

possibility. I'll have to explore this more (thanks for the link!)

Anyway, I thank you and Andy for your level-headed responses and I'm

listening to what you folks have to say (I don't wish to think I'm

right about everything. I need the advice and inspiration of others

in my life and I do listen to what others tell me...so don't you guys

give up on me yet! :-)

Terry,

No need to apologize... we all have opinions, and this forum is the

place to share them! Don't think that we are getting down on you for

sharing your views. That's not the case at all. Feel free to post

your opionion again... it's good for discussion, and you never know

when you (or someone who is lurking) will learn something new. :)

Yes, no need to apologize. I kind of figured you might be having a

bad day. It is always interesting to see criticisms of the program.

If it worked for everyone, we'd here more about BFL and less about

Atkins and Southbeach.

Thanks, Andy! I appretiate the maturity of you guys--being able

to " sence " that!

Yes, I was having a bad day. I was frustrated because the first week

of the plan I had lost a whopping five pounds! But the second and

third weeks I've lost nothing (not in weight on the scales or

anything on the tape measurements.)

If I had to guess, it's because I lead a pretty sedentary life right

now (unemployed at the moment) and the plan may just be too many

calories for me right now. A nutritionist I visited explained to me

that as a male I DO still need my calories so my metabolism won't

shut down, but it's that balance one has to find where you get enough

calories (for metabolism), but not " too " many (in order to lose).

This is my fourth week, so I'm hoping for better. I have been

following the plan well and exercising well. Not perfect, but I'm

happy with the dedication I've shown thus far. So maybe it's just

taking a bit longer for me.

Anyway, thanks again for being understanding, Andy and everyone!
