>>I just recently convinced my regular doctor to order cortisol tests

but he would only do this through blood so I just received the results

and am asking for your opinion: AM 12.9 PM 13.8;<<

What are the ranges for these? Labs vary in their ranges so we need to

see this lab's ranges. What I DO see is that you are almost the same AM

& PM and that is not good nor NORMAL. The AM Cortisol levels need to be

abotu double what the PM ones are. So at the very least you have a

messed up cortisol rythym. You can order your own saliva cortisol

testing from www.canaryclub.org which is a comprehensive oanel of tests

for all the sex hormones, thyroid hormones & antibodies and DHEA and 4 x

cortisol rythym testing. ALL for $141 so it is well worth it.

>>In addition I have

always been anemic. I can't give blood to the american red cross

because I have a low iron level. I have tried taking a supplement but

it makes me very sick to my stomach. <<

There are MANY kinds of iron supplements and many of us have had

problems with one or the other, I ma sure Missy will chime in here to

help you out as you MUST bring oyur Ferritin levels to between 70 & 90

or you will not be able to get your thyroid levels where they need to be

without some horrid symptoms.

>>my question also is the fact that I

was very low on progesterone (.4) possibly causing me to show

hypothryoid. <<

Low P does NOT cause low thyroid. What it may be doing is allowing your

Estrogens to run wild and estrogen binds thyroid where it is not

available to you body. I strongly recommend you start a Progesterone

cream. They work very well and I have found a really cheap one that is

wonderful! I buy mine through www.ourhealthcoop.com
