Guest guest
Here's what I am thinking.... 1) I tend to drink TOO much Diet Pepsi I am going to limit it to free day 2) I am going to wean off of coffee or should I say coffee with non- dairy creamer and artificial sweetner and go with a small black morning coffee. 3) I LOVE sugar free popsicles but tend to eat them by the box (brain freeze excites me!!) and will limit these to free day. Day 3 and off to the gym!!! Let me know how this sounds to you guys. Jack
Guest guest
Jack- I agree on cutting back on the soda. There was a whole discussion about phosphoric acid and carbonation not too long ago. I still drink a lot of coffee, but I drink it black, no sweetener. And yeah... probably helpful to cut back on those popsicles, too! Have a great workout.:-) -Lianne > Here's what I am thinking.... > > 1) I tend to drink TOO much Diet Pepsi I am going to limit it to free > day > > 2) I am going to wean off of coffee or should I say coffee with non- > dairy creamer and artificial sweetner and go with a small black > morning coffee. > > 3) I LOVE sugar free popsicles but tend to eat them by the box (brain > freeze excites me!!) and will limit these to free day. > > Day 3 and off to the gym!!! Guest guest
I found the following information in a book called " The everything Weight Training Book " : " Caffeine is a true proven ergogenic or performance-enhancing aid. The reasons for its benefits are not completely clear. Researchers believe that the performance benefits are due to the fact that caffeine stimulates the release of free fatty acids into the blood stream. As a result, precious muscle glycogen reserves are spared for later use by the body. Using caffeine, therefore, enhances both longer endurance activitiies and short intense exercise. ..... the optimal amount of caffeine to ingest seems to be about two cups of coffee.
