Guest guest
Kristy, I was hoping so too, but hope didn't get me too far! My frame of mind is a little better than it was last night, but my body refused to follow along. I wanted to make it through the day without taking anything for the pain, but I only made it til 3. I'm just soooo ready for winter to be over! I really hope I'm feeling better by Saturday. It's a really big day for my daughter, and I don't want to be a big old mess! My 13 year old was spotted by a modeling agency scout a while back, and they called last week to ask if we'd bring her in on Saturday. Needless to say, she's beside herself with excitement, and I'm excited for her, and I want to be there for her 100%. I also know that she's going to be a basket case come Saturday morning! Cheerleading tryouts were hell, so something like this is going to be 10 times worse! I'm hoping to play on the fact that THEY asked HER if she starts to panic on me! I'm sorry that you pulled your back muscles. I hope you are getting better with every day. Adding pain on top of pain can't be easy! Thanks for taking the time to write me even though you are having a bad time yourself. I really appreciate it! Jen
Guest guest
AAAAAWWWWWWW our poor ((((((((((((JEN)))))))))))))!! So sorry you are feeling so bad but man can I ever relate to you. Every thing in my body hurts. I also have knots in my shoulders. There are a couple of VERY good massage therapist in town females. I just don't have cash to pay them with and they don't take Medicaid so I am chit out of luck. I will be praying you get to feeling better! Guest guest
, Is there by chance a massage school nearby? The student clinics charge less than a licensed MT. They are students, but they are near graduating or they wouldn't be in the clinic and my be able to help for a lesser fee. <><><><><> Re: Feeling yucky..... .... Guest guest
, Thanks for the hugs. I can really use them! And I could use a good massage myself! I had a massage therapist, but I stopped going to him because he talked too much (we're friends), and he believes that deep tissue massage is the ONLY kind of massage, and my body just can't handle that anymore! I'd be crying in no time! I saw an ad in the paper a while back for a new MT who specializes in working with FM patients, but I haven't seen it since.....darn it! It would be great if my insurance covered massage therapy, but unless it's done in conjunction with PT, it's considered " alternative medicine " , and not covered. Figure that one out! My insurance doesn't even cover chiropractic treatment unless it's for an acute injury. I have to see my chiro at least twice a month, so thank goodness for secondary insurance! My body is really taking a beating this week. I rotated into a job at work this week that is very physically intensive, a lot of repetative lifting all day long, some of it heavy, and a lot of bending and twisting. I'm so stiff and sore from the base of my skull to low down in my hips, and out into my shoulders. It's especially bad in my left SI joint, which I injured 5 years ago in a car accident. Some of the spasms that shoot through it just take my breath away. I've spent the majority of the week after work attached to my heating pad. I'm not supposed to take any meds on the job, since I work in a factory, but I haven't had much choice this week. I'd never make it through the day if I didn't. I've gritted my teeth and forced myself to make it to the end of this week, but I'm going to have a talk with my team leader tomorrow and tell him that I'm just physically incapable of doing that job. I have FMLA paperwork that allows me to do it, but so far, I've yet to use that right....I think the time has come. This particular job is just way too much for me! I had to take my daughter to see the doctor today after work, and the wonderful person that he is, he okayed me taking 20mg of Oxycontin when the pain gets really intense like this. Normally, 10mg is more than sufficient, and leaves me able to function well without feeling all dopey. I described to him what I was doing this week, and what it was doing to me, and he said that it was fine for me to up it to 20mg to get through this very painful week, as long as I don't make a habit of it, and that he would refill my prescription early because of it if needed since I had a good reason. Right now, I'm on 20mg, and it's wonderful. I can't feel a thing, which is such a relief. I was in so much pain earlier, that sitting made me want to cry. Again, thanks for the hugs and the support. I really appreciate it. Jen
