Thanks but no thanks. EEKS!!! I am not that hardy to endure that

kind of pain and suffering!

They make the contestants on Extreme Makeover sign a TON of

liability waivers including medical malpractice waivers in exchange

for their show appearance. I considered appying to the show but I am

prohibited as I have a professional relationship with Disney.

You know PS is not forever. Gravity can't be denied. Hope those

people know the future expenses in store for them including future

medical check ups and touch ups!!!

Thank you Daddy!

On that note I was reading a post on another board from a gal who was

about to go back and have all her plastics repaired several times in

31/2 years - in fact here it is:

" Well, talk about ironic! Here i am, just sold all my compression

garments.

Been totally rebuilt about 6 times over the last 3 1/2 yrs and well, now

i'm

falling apart again. Suddenly my facia is splitting and my mons is

bulging and

my hip has a weak spot and two dog tags and a belly button hernia and

two more

around the belly button area and then stitches are coming out of my arms

from

the brachia and so they are going to cut me again from the arms around

the

hips down the belly and through the groin AGAIN! next Wed.. i've already

had all

this done repeatedly and now here i go again.. I'm so sick of failed

surgeries

and finding that nothing really is as it seems or stays that way.. I

thought

that after all i'd gone through i was done and over and would NEVER EVER

EVER

have another PS in my LIFE! But now.. here i go again.. i'm 5'8 and go

between

104 and 114 so weight is not the problem.. they said i'm rather thin and

that

is PART of the problem as my skin is thin and weak.. I can't win for

losing..

ARGH! I'm sorry.. i was just wondering if anyone else had had the

entire

body lift to only have most of it fail a few yrs down the road and then

have to

have redos again? I'm FRUSTRATED!! I could see if i gained or lost alot

and

that was the problem but the suture lines failing baffles me!! And i've

had

several consults and they just said that being a GB patient and going

through

malnutrition and malabsorption and severe anemia and being frail just

takes a toll

on the muscles and atrophy has a big part of it.. well i DO eat and eat

and

eat and still, the diebetes and such just doesnt help and here i am

going

through another overhaul again and now i'm like WHEN does it stop? I

could see if i

had a choice between doing it for looks and just saying oh well

whatever, but

mine is an issue of the muscles and skin infections again and abcesses

and

stitches popping up now.. Anyone else have any similiar problems? Thanks

for

letting me vent... "

Hi Carol!

Yes, many people think PS is just that--plastic. But even plastic

melts.

I had to admit it but my dad's initial concerns were right on the

money. PS is a serious consideration and it costs money to keep up!

It's not a one time shot! As a diabetic infection and healthy

healing is a big concern to me.

Me too! I lurk on the OSSG_Off_track board and see so many post-ops

struggling with health issues out there. Most of it is due to

self-destruction but some of it is just lack of knowledge. I sometimes

wonder if some surgeons give any nutritional advice at all.

Carol

.... i fear that ther ewill be many many who become thin but unhealthy

.... due to the lack of knowledge of post op nutrition.... i prefer to

err on th eside of preventative and caution.
