Guest guest
Hi Tammi, most of us have been on this thyroid merry go round trying to get the help we need. There is good help out there but you may have to search hard to find it and become proactive. I myself was untreated for 30 years after a partial thyroidectomy. They are giving you synthetic T4. I think the natural medicines work better (doctors seem to prescribe what drug companies market to them). More info: www.thyroid.about.com www.armourthyroid.com www.brodabarnes.org Good luck, Gracia > Hi all I am new to this group, > > I have been shifted and shunted between dr's so much lately that I am > losing faith in all of them. It develops because the body stops being able to convert T4, the stable form of thyroid hormone, into T3, the active form, which tells the body how much energy to produce. One other symptom of WTS is low average daily body temperature. Do you have this? You can have low body temp even when you feel warm. The best way to check is to take your temp three times a day for four or five days. Take the first one about four hours after you first get up in the morning. Then at three hour intervals. Average the three temps each day and chart them. Anything below 98.4, imo, is suspect. Use a new, gallium thermometer and take care not to drop it. A thermometer that has been dropped at any time from a height of four feet or more can become uncalibrated. Digitals are too inaccurate and loose their batteries too quickly over the many times you'll need to measure. They aren't selling mercury thermometers anymore and old mercury thermometers are likely to have been dropped or banged around and thus be inaccurate. Here's a website to learn about WTS. I went 30 years dragging around as you've described with no doctor willing to give me any medicine for hyothyroidism and always blaming me saying I was depressed or hypochondriac or crazy. Then, last year a new, holistic MD saw the low body temp chart I'd been keeping and started me on the treatment for WTS and my life has revived dramatically!!! I'm now 95% of normal! I hope it will help you! All the best, in LA

Guest guest
It is 2:46 here. You still up? How long have you had your implants? Insurance may pay if you have pain, or rupture, depending on the insurance. My breast hurt too. I know now that the mammogram ruptured my implants, 4 years before I had them removed. > > Anybody out there? It's 1:30 am on the 10th of Oct. I can't sleep > because my leaking implants hurt. I was searching through some of the links. It sounds like this might be a complicated proceedure. I'm in Chicago area, there's a recommended Doctor in Milwaukee, maybe I should go there instead. I hate to put off the appointment. I got these implants in 1981! So that's what..24 years? > > >
Guest guest
I bet they are ruptured. Mine were 20 years old when I had them removed. Should I be looking for someone who specializes in explants, or at least believes in this " en bloc " that I am reading about? Any idea how I can find out where my medical records might be since my doctor died? I wonder if since the implant industry was in such turmoil the surgeons were required to keep their records for a longer period of time. I don't even know if mine are silicone, for some reason I don't think they are. Was anything else even available back in 1981? I've been asked to bring all that to my appointment tomorrow...I just keep running into dead ends. I was so happy to find this site. Maybe no one has my answers but at least I can ask out loud to someone who knows why I need to know.
Guest guest
Charlotte, I have absolutely no doubt your implants are at the root of your problems. . . A sleep disorder goes alone with it. . . If you can, get your doctor to prescribe medication for sleep - Rozerem is a new, non-narcotic drug. You probably have Fibromyalgia . . . But, once you get your implants out, you can start feeling much better. It's important that your doctor remove your implants en bloc - if at all possible - or if not, remove all the capsule and as much silicone as possible. If your doctor tells your implants aren't causing your problems, he/she is a problem. Find a doctor who cares! Sometimes insurance pays. . . Your doctor will have to cooperate and tell the insurance company they MUST come out! Many doctors won't! In the meantime, chances are very good you have a systemic fungal problem. You can do a self test by spitting in a glass of water the first thing in the morning. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. If it's clear, no problem, you're fine. If there's a milkly blob floating, with tendrils hanging down - if its broken into floating chunks, or if it's sunken to the bottom in a milky blob, you likely have a problem. There are a number of things that help. A quick start is prescription Diflucan or Nystatin. I've had very good luck with Garden of Life products. . . You can start with one bottle of Fungal Defense followed by Primal Defense (which you'll probably need for months). " The Maker's Diet " is an outstanding book that the author, Rubin, considers a 40 day plan to health. Besically he recommends a no sugar, no refined grains, no processed foods. Eating as organically as possible, with a host of supplements. With ruptured implants, it's essential that you drink plenty unchlorinated, pure water to flush as much silicone out of your body as possible. . . 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight is recommended. However, with breast implants, it's unlikely you'll make any significant gains until your implants are out. There are a lot of suggestions for getting better in our archives. Please check them out. And, when you have questions, ask away! . . . We have some wonderful ladies here! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Thank you for your message. My doctor appointment is today and I will find out what this doctor is all about. No one has a recommendation for me here in the Chicago area. At least this doctor has "Implant Removal" listed on his web site. I was told he's a fighter when it comes to insurance so I hope he can be "the one" - I don't want to go through this process too many times, I just want them out. I've had these implants for 24 years. I have no idea what I'm going to look like when all is said and done. There goes a big chunk of our retirement savings. Oh well....who knew?
