Guest guest
Amen to the dr thing! I am in that right now. My reg, dr was giving me vicoprofen - but she left the clinic for a better job. Then they sent me to an advanced pain management dr. Nightmare is glorifiying it! I will NEVER go pack to her or another pain management anything ever again! Then the rhumey - give me a break - take this anti depressent to sleep come back to see me in 3 months - three months ! ! ! ! I took it two nights and felt so crappy that I didn't take it last night. I had not slept any better either. This morning I feel great! (Just frustrated) Is there such a thing as help? Are there fibromyalgia drs? Do they help? Do they always order MRIs . . . why? ~Jen~ Jen, So glad to have you here Hun. I don't care what anyone says Narcotics do help the pain at least for most of us. Especially Oxicotin. The problem is finding a doctor who will give it. At least I know they sure help me. I wish my Ruemy would give me my Oxicotin back. He won't put me on it yet. Wants to get everything else done first. Well Gesh surgery just causes more pain. But I get to see him 2 days before surgery so maybe he will but I doubt it. He has me on Avenza which is a new medicine it is a slow time release Morphine. Also Percoset 10 Mg. And Neurontin 300 mg. 3 times a day. They have me on an Antidepressant for Migraines, another for IBS & Wellbutrin 150 mg twice a day for depression. With all the Antidepressants they have me on I should be the happiest person on earth. LOL I am also Bi-Polar however they have never found a medicine I can take for it. But I do just fine without anything. I am on many more meds. My Thyroid shut down so I take Synthroid for it. BP meds. Nexium for Stomach and Esophogus. Aspirin and Nitrostat for my heart. They can't control my BP no mater what they use so it falls and then rises and peaks and if it peaks I have a mini stroke. So I have quite a few of them. I fall on a regular basis. I have a brand new electric wheel chair but my apt. is to small to use it in. I can't even get around with my walker. I do a LOT of crawling. I have a cane but it isn't a lot of help. And it is special to me because it's a wooden one my Mother made for me and it's signed and all and I don't want to fall on it and break it. So I just do the best I can. The main place I fall is when trying to get off of the toilet. I will be so glad when we can get into a house where we have more room. Anyway I know you will be a great asset to the group. I am glad you found us and joined. You will get a LOT of love and support here as well as Knowledge. If you look in the files section there is a lot of info and 9 LONG pages on my main web site at www.wolfpoet.com . I look forward to getting to know you better as I know the other members feel the same. Love & God Bless! /Wolf~President I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe. Guest guest
What is a PCP? I have been researching fibro drs - there are some, but is worth the trip is another question . . . Re: ~Jen~ Doctors and meds ,UGH, I hear ya! If it wasn't for my great PCP and psych, I would write off doctors altogether! My old psych had me so doped up I didn't know whether I was coming or going! And I feel exactly the same way you do about pain docs. The one I went to was a total nightmare too! I've not been to a rheumy, but I've heard stories. I'm not sure if there is a specific doctor just for FMer's, but that would be nice! I take a separate a/d and sleep med by the way. Solves that dilemma nicely! Well, I'm getting chased off the computer by my daughter, so I have to say goodbye for now. Hope you have a nice night! Take care.Jen
