I read somewhere that we (FMS sufferers) have broken internal thermostats. Has anyone else heard this. Guest guest
Yes - I get this! I thought it was only me . . . frozen to the core. That is why hubby bought me the electric type blankets. Hummmmmmm. Re: Hot Flashes Also a bag of frozen peas will help.. I am not sure all of our hot flashes are from hormones tho ladies. Guest guest
I agree with the FMS gals have broken thermostats theory! Otherwise I started menopause around 33!! Now 41 it's still as much of a overheating zone as ever, and I'm talking in a nightgown in a house with the thermostat on 70 (in AZ winter, 78 summer). I have to say, AVON has a Wellness product that is a cooling spray that I use most evenings on the backs of my knees, my feet, back of my neck, and on my arms.......it helps. Before I found this I used a spritz bottle with just water and the ceiling fan on always. Glad to know I'm not the only one running (LOL) warm. Guest guest
Me too. I have been and am still on hrt for several years, I still sweat like no tomorrow when I am trying to sleep and in the morning when I am trying to wake up. Then, in the evening I am freezing. SOmetime the 5-htp helps me sleep but not so much with the sweats. my ob/gyn observed that " hot flashes should be self limiting " . Well, since I started getting them in my late 30s and am no 49, I would say this isn't so. Or at least they aren't hot flashes. So I just sleep in a tshirt and change the sheets a lot.
