RALLY IN D.C. ON JUNE 17

RALLY IN WASHINGTON ON JUNE 17.Parent and advocacy groups have joined together in a coalition to organize a rally at the Senate in Washington DC on June 17, 2003.DON’T LEAVE US BEHIND!!!

A National Rally to Preserve Civil Rights under IDEA for Students with Disabilities- A Rally for Parents, Students, and Advocates

The US House of Representatives stripped the rights of students with disabilities when they amended IDEA!

The House assaults on IDEA would segregate students with disabilities, punish them for their disabilities, and remove accountability for a Free andAppropriate Public Education!

Thousands of letters were sent and phone calls made. They were ignored!

Don’t let the Senate do the same. Let’s tell Senators that civil rights must be enforced, not taken away. Let’s show them the faces of parents and students who depend on IDEA!WHAT YOU CAN DO…Come to Washington DCOrganize, Recruit, CaravanTuesday, June 17Rally and Press Conference

Testimonial in Disability Studies Quarterly:A 1997 review in DISABILITY STUDIES QUARTERLY by a mediator stated "I believe this book would make an excellent tool for instructors who wish to illustrate the core concepts of the IDEA from a practical and realistic perspective. Parents of children with disabilities, no doubt, would enjoy reading of the frustrations that others have faced, would be encouraged by the successes, and would benefit from the greater understanding of the law that would result from reading Extraordinary Children...Perhaps reading this book will inspire parents and lawyers alike to fight the good fight on behalf of those wonderful and extraordinary kids with disabilities."
