Guest guest
I did see that article about Stahl and more or less agree. You won't find any of us against weight lifting. It still goes back to why not do both weights and CV aerobic things? If you have bad knees do other forms of exercise. I simply think I am much healthier and lose fat easier when I do both types of exercise. I think you can always find a way to do a CV exercise. Swimming, cycling, all the types of machines, etc.. Ken,or anyone else, on a slightly different subject, since you like to explore these things, have you heard about the 8 and 8 concept in weight lifting? 8 reps and do 8 sets. It uses lighter weights because of all the sets and does not take your muscles to failure. I injured my shoulder slightly going to failure and started doing this after reading it somewhere. It does seem to work for me. The main advocate of it currently is a guy who trains Hollywood stars and swears by it. He says it builds muscle faster than going fewer sets to failure. He trained Brad Pitt for Troy. Thoughts? ...pointcove
Guest guest
Well, if they were doing nothing before, I think it would help lean them up and build a little muscle if they are eating right. I guess I'd want to know if this is how these folks train all the time and if so, do the gains continue? And I realize everyone's muscle's respond differently to different kinds of training. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to try this method for a few weeks. Changing your routine every so often is a good thing. You could do the 8 reps for 8 sets for 8 weeks or whatever and then go back to your regular routine. Guest guest
True, it can't hurt while my shoulder fully recovers. Thanks, Andy. > > Ken,or anyone else, on a slightly different subject, since you like > > to explore these things, have you heard about the 8 and 8 concept > in > > weight lifting? 8 reps and do 8 sets.
