Guest guest
She's got the sciatic nerve problem going down her leg and it's agony. Do you think SAM-E would help this? , how are her thyroid, and estogen levels??????
Guest guest
Doctors don't bother to do E levels on 82 year old women. It's probably non existent. Her TSH was 2.34, T4 Free was 1.1 and he did a T3 Uptake which was 29. Why? , have you read Dr. Starr's book, What Your Dr. May Not Tell You About Hypothryoidism????? Anyway in there, there are pictures and stories about even older women, one in her 80's....she went to a new Dr. that lowered her thyroid meds.....within weeks she was almost a crippled......she called her old Dr. and he RXed her, her old higher dose.....she was out gardening again in no time.....also after reading in Dr. Vliet's books, and from my own pain management.....E and thyroid are a MUST HAVE....or I'd be living like a cripple too!!!!!!!! Just food for thought:))
Guest guest
I've been tempted to give my mom my Armour - but she's on a lot of other meds. I'm printing this OUT for her. I know this and you know this all, but try telling an 82 year old!! And she is taken care of by a cardiologist and you know how they are. They are demi-gods! I'm sure I'd have to BEG him to treat her for hypo-T! , worth a shot, then you'll know you did what you could, my mother in law is in the same boat, BUT she believes her Dr.......I can see her labs are low thyroid, E, and they won't even give her a E patch......it is SICK!!!!!!!!!!!! but I tried:))) good luck, XOXOXO L
Guest guest
Also, doctors don't want to treat older women with E. They claim its too late!!! makes me want to do a testicle-cktomyyyyyyyyyyy on them !!!!!!!!!!!!!! L
Guest guest
Hey Charlotte -- what is fibro-arthritis? Is that osteoarthritis ? My mom is in very bad pain - she's suffering from degenerative discs (osteoarthritis) and nothing is helping her pain at all. I'm ready to put her in a hospital to get an epidural ! She's got the sciatic nerve problem going down her leg and it's agony. Do you think SAM-E would help this? > > I took it for awhile, - very good for (fibro-arthitis) pain and energy > balance. Guest guest
Thanks, ... I felt great on 7 grains, but I've learned along the way that the moment even ONE hypO symptom returns, it's imperative to increase my Armour. This time the first signs were puffy face in the morning and a little OCD starting. Uh-oh, so I upped by 1/2 grain. When I didn't feel the typical "zing" with an increase, I just bit the bullet and made it a 1 grain (60mg) increase, and that did the trick. Slight zing, and lights are brighter, eyes more awake, colors more vivid, OCD gone, puffy face gone, oops-when-I-cough gone (heh...heh...), my slight impatience gone. And in just 72 hours after the increase... Oh, um, I totally dose by symptoms... using blood tests, for me, is not wise (blood number are huge)...I think tissue levels are more important... Guest guest
T3 Uptake--This test measures the amount of thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) in the patient's serum. When TBG is increased, T3 uptake is decreased, and vice versa. T3 Uptake does not measure the level of T3 or T4 in serum. Basically, smack the doctor up side the head for doing this test. Doesn't really matter. Make butt-boy do the Free T3 and Free T4 instead.
