Should I worry about my lining thickening if I am still cycling regularly?- I finally feel good and don't need naps so I think the thyroid is doing well and I am not fluctuating in moods to the extreme.Hope this helps if your having P issues.Sonii

Sonii, so good to see you're doing better:)))) I know a few of the girls that were doing double WP E, and got to where they could do no P.....then, their E needs dropped some because they were not battling the P, ALSO they were still cycling and having good bleeds, seems if you still have good bleeds, your lining is being shed??. Maybe that's why your Dr. isn't worried about the P...........just my two cents, LOLLOL :)))

I was on the spiro for 3 yrs and I never felt like the E was working and than I

did a search

on pub med and typed in aldactone/estradiol and read a study that the spiro acts

like

tamoxifen (blocks E reception). So I took a chance and went off (my daughter

also) and

dropped the P as much as possible. I am still experiment w/my E but my last

blood test

was about 225 (I was on some oral at that time). I am now using only .1mg

vivelle and

some polyprop E drops. I have an appointment w/my endo in March so I will see

how I am

doing w/blood tests and sono. I feel good now on just the E (I am also on T4 and

T3

thyroid meds)

Regarding P, I just wanted to share something I observed these past

couple of months. I am on Oestrogel, half a stick only once a day,

which is only .75mg. and I am feeling fine with that, and sometimes

up it to double if I am stressed. I am 42 and still cycling but

kept worrying about not using any P (which is what my doctor

preferred),so these last two cycles I tried to add in two lines of

my old WP progesterone cream. Each time I started my cycle on day

19 or 20. After 6 days I would start to bleed. This month I just

said forget it and did only the estrogel (and my armour 1.5 split

during the morning and afternoon. I started today on day 27! I am

thrilled. I keep getting conflicting information from everywhere on

P, but it makes sense that if I am cylcing then I still have some of

my own P and adding to that just upsets my balance. I am suppose to

do some testing next time I see my doctor, so I may wait and see

what the test reveal, but at this point, I don't think my body can

handle any P. Should I worry about my lining thickening if I am

still cycling regularly?- I finally feel good and don't need naps

so I think the thyroid is doing well and I am not fluctuating in

moods to the extreme.

Hope this helps if your having P issues.

Supposedly if you do not get rid of your thick lining, you are more

susceptible to endometrial cancer. Women without a uterus do not

have to worry about that.

Wow! Interesting! confusing...so what do i do? go off spiro? with total T of 66??? it's never easy, is it? some days like today i feel may be i should just get a wig and move on with my life...i couldn't sleep last night...woke up 3 times...had to go to the bathroom 5 times! would get cold, then hot, then cold..i am feeling totally sick..i've added 2 extra pumps of estrogel to 2 0.1 vivelle dots...i just don't understand what's happening to my body? is it still cearing itself off P? is it aldactone? what is it???bigbird3099 wrote: I was on the spiro for 3 yrs and I never felt like the E was working and than I did a search on pub med and typed in aldactone/estradiol and read a study that the spiro acts like tamoxifen (blocks E reception). Karin-

I think that P is a two-edged sword! We need it for out uterus, yet we don't need it due to the ills that it creates in us.

Even with my P level being microscopic, I get oily scalp some acne on my neck and on my head, and the massive hair loss.

We can send man into space-why can we invent a pill to stop hair loss? *One that doesn't block our hormones...

Hi ,

I find that I get the symptoms of low estrogen when my estradiol levels are

changing rapidly. For me, estrogel was in and out in just a couple of hours

so there was a lot of fluctuation in blood levels. I kept thinking that hot

flashes meant my estrogen was low so would use more estrogel but still got

hot flashes. When I got a blood test back, estradiol was really high but I

was still flashing.

When I switched to using the patch plus the Femring, the dramatic

fluctuations went away and so did the hot flashes. However, the Femring was

too expensive. It's supposed to last for three months but only lasted a

month for me and I needed two of them! So, I've switched again to the patch

plus estradiol cream morning and night. It seems to be absorbed more slowly

than estrogel and gives me steadier levels.

Maybe the estrogel you're using is causing you to be on an estrogen roller

coaster and contributing to the unpleasant symptoms you're having?

I also learned from my doctor that dramatic changes in estradiol levels can

cause hair loss so that's another reason to keep the levels fairly steady.

She said that's what happens when women lose their hair after pregnancy.

Estradiol goes very high during pregnancy and hair is great. After the

birth, the level drops dramatically and that's when hair starts falling out.

am currently using an estradiol cream from a compounding pharmacy, specifically 's Pharmacy.

hee hee hee, you must be up in WA....did you get Marks' PLO cream???? He makes clean product, though expensive. How are you liking it????

Some of us had talked about inventing a hormone meter, like a glucose meter, we'd be billionaires, LOL. I found if I can, I get labs at weird times, helps to pin-point symptoms.

So that maybe an option.

I also found out that my thyroid had a bigger role than I had imagined, just now treating it over this last year....low thyroid has alot of low E symptoms, that makes it even more exciting, eah :))

That's exactly my problem..how do i tell high E from low E from high/low T...it's soo hard! -J. Hatfield wrote: I am currently using an estradiol cream from a compounding pharmacy, specifically 's Pharmacy. (The pharmacist tells me that there are no preservatives in the cream.) My doctor suggested this delivery method as she says it is very difficult to manage women on the patch as the absorption is so rapid and sporadic. My experience has been that different methods of delivery have different absorption times and the types that absorb rapidly, such as gel, sublingual drops and oral forms put me on a roller coaster with unpleasant symptoms. I really wish there was a blood estradiol meter just like there is a blood glucose meter so we

could monitor our levels frequently ourselves. I can't always tell from symptoms if my levels are high or low. Reply-To: rhythmicliving To: rhythmicliving Subject: Re: Re: Those doctors...ugh! almost non-existent and I had the blood drawn on the 14th day of using 100 mg. progesterone cream daily.

I found I could even use the WP dose of P, 900mgs, and still only get 3.3 in my blood work, that was because it was storing in my fat!!!!!!!!!!!! I took oral P, 100 mgs. and got 45 in my blood work..........felt like crap too, dizzy and weird vision, heavy legs....not good, blocked all my E. PLEASE let us know about your urine test and how it compares. They do urine for steroid hormones in athletes, but I think the fat storage issue for P will still be there. I went thru this for 2 years during the WP phase of my life.....kindda why we on RL, are giving a heads up about the dangers of P build-up....some of us are still purging it.Be sure you keep your P on VERY THIN SKIN.....tops of feet ect.....some are finding vaginal application best. Keep up posted, thanks, :)))

I'm in the Los Angeles area and my doctor is also. So far, the cream seems to be working okay although a recent blood test shows that estradiol if good but progesterone is almost non-existent and I had the blood drawn on the 14th day of using 100 mg. progesterone cream daily.

I've read all the controversy over whether blood or saliva is a more accurate way to test hormone levels and then I ran across a doctor who says the only way to test correctly is with a 24 hour urine collection. He says "A blood test is a snapshot and a saliva test is a snapshot of a snapshot. A 24 hour urine test shows you the whole movie."

It's hard to know what's right when respected, supposedly successful doctors line up on opposing sides of the issue. So, on the same day I had blood drawn, I also did a 24 hour urine collection and sent it off to the lab. It will be interesting to compare the results of the two tests.

Boy, is it a lot of work and experimentation to get this hormone replacement thing right though. At least for me it has been.

I am also taking Armour thyroid and don't think that is tweaked just right yet either. I learned some things from the www.stopthethyroidmadness.com site.

Hi,I collected the urine and sent it to the lab myself but had a lab requisition slip from my doctor. They will send the results to him.

The lab is AAL Reference Laboratories and their website is http://aalrl.com/ It might be possible to call or email them and see if they can direct you to a doctor in your area.

I was putting the progesterone cream on the tops of my feet and hands so I don't think it would store in fat, unless it travels in the bloodstream and gets dropped off in other fatty areas. :) I can't take the oral stuff because I get blinding headaches by the fifth day - from digestive byproducts, I've read.I used progesterone cream in the past and got a blood reading of 10 but that was over a year ago and I hadn't used any since starting recently. I have had a hysterectomy and was told by Dr. Vliet that I no longer needed progesterone but my new doctor disagrees. Maybe different creams absorb differently, I don't know. In any case, during the next 14 day round, I'm going to double my dose and see what happens.

BTW, I haven't done the Wiley protocol. My doctor suggested it and it sounded good so I said okay but by the time the pharmacy called me to get my address, I had done my internet research and found this group and changed my mind.

almost non-existent and I had the blood drawn on the 14th day of using 100 mg. progesterone cream daily.

Hey ... would you mind sharing a little on your Vliet experience?

I post on another board with a women who is having quite a time with

her... not necessarily bad, we just can't connect the book she wrote to

her present advice... but then again, we're not doctors with loads of

clinical experience... ? :-)
