Guest guest
Wow I didn't know armour can make you loose more. I know I am gaining more every day and this is just depressing me so much. I can't seem to do anything to curve this appetite and loose. I can't wait until I see the doctor in May and try to convince him to go on armour. I sure hope I don't get any bad reactions. I react so bad to things. It is worth a try here. Anita
Guest guest
Anita, I was also afraid of a bad reaction. Back in the early 90's I went on the birth control pill to shrink an ovarian cyst. It made me so ill the two months I took it that I SWORE I would never take another hormone for the rest of my life. Imagine my surprise and disgust when I was told I was hypo and had to take a hormone again last year. The, I had such a bad reaction to Levoxyl, that I ended up coming into this group to find out what my options were. I became convinced that Armour was my last and only shot at this...that if I had to put a hormone in my body, let it be a natural one, and pray a lot. I am so very glad I made that choice, because my recent experience with the armour is a zillion times better than anything else. No doubt! I think, as I told , that you will be pleasantly surprised. I know I am. When I very first started here, gracia said that she thought I would find that Armour was far more " forgiving " than anything else...and I have kept that phrase in mind all this time and have thought about that each day. I think she is right about that. While being off thyroid for 2 weeks made 1/4 grain all at once kick my butt, that was probably to be expected seeing the condition I was still in from being on the Levoxyl for 6 months. Stopping, and restarting at 1/2 a 1/4 grain twice a day was the best choice I could have made, and think that once I am over this cold thingy I will be better able to judge whether I am ready for more. In addition, I need to get my sex hormones straightened out, which I will be talking to my doc about on my next visit. It seems I just came across some more genetic info about myself that will help me find the right replacement or supplementary hormones for me.
