Re: Is Neurontin (Gabapentin) another problem drug?

Just read a post regarding neurontin.

Wetting my knickers now. Didn't think this drug was addictive and could

come off it quite easily.

Is this another drug hard to come off too? If so are the symptoms common to

the typical withdrawal.

any info appreciated.

Sorry about the puddle on your chair.

I too was given Neurontin (Gabapentin), this as therapy for Epilepsy

directly caused by my Effexor anti-d.

Just to let you know that I got off the Effexor 51 weeks ago and

have stayed off it too ........never looked back.

Once off the Effexor it was found that I was no longer prone to

Epilepsy ...............I therefore started into a taper of the

Neurontin (Gabapentin) and with the knowledge & support of this list

I got off the drug without incident.

Take it slow & keep intouch with this list, I'm sure you will be

fine in the end, you are amongst good friends with TRUE experience

in this matter.

As for the neuropathic pain.

I too suffer pain as described by you.

If you care to take a scroll through the archives I'm sure you will

find info & posts about a homeopathic remedy that has given great

relief to more folks than just me.

BTW It has just been confirmed that I have a peripheray neuropathy

in my legs, feet and in the thumbs + fore finger of both my hands.

These psyc meds really screw your mind & body up in oh so many ways

and I can really attest to the effectiveness of the homeopathic

remedy is this reguard

Thanks for the reply. Knowing that you have been off Effexor for 51 weeks

and now of neurontin gives me faith and a knowledge that I too can get

there. Good on you. I know it is a hard slog but I AM GOING TO GET MY LIFE

BACK just as you have.

Did you get your epilepsy diagnosed and if so was it by a normal EEG?

I am so sorry to hear this. You have come such a long wayand ought to be so
