Guest guest
Lynne, No I was not instructed to take any other supplements. I was using Lugol's and I seemed to get more anxiety. BUT I was on other phyc drugs, and going through hell. Now I'm just on the Valium. I have done a lot of research and I'm now fearful of any detoxing as this can make withdrawals worse. I feel like I'm still between that rock and hard place.I will listen to the interview this afternoon. I already use some Celtic sea salt but zero vit C or any of the other supplements. And I"m only using OOE (12-14mg per day) When I first started the 5HTP, I did okay for a couple of days and then the headaches started.I was also on AD's which was probably adding to the problem. I also tried tryptophan one night and hallucinated. Since I"m no longer on the AD's, I MIGHT consider trying it again. I feel like I have been just floundering along for the last 2 years. I have been to many different alternative drs and they all have different ideas/protocols. Is there any way to get a hold of Dr. Flechas? Do you know if he does phone consults? I'm nervous to do a loading iodine test, due to detoxing. I hear one can have reactions to that test. Last test about 2 months ago, showed my TSH at 1.09 and FT3 mid low and FT4 mid range. I don't have the numbers in front of me. But they looked a bit better than the last time I had them done. Thanks for brainstorming and all the info you guys share! What were your reactions? Were you instructed to take the iodine companion nutrients with it such as 3 G, vitamin C, selenium, magnesium and Celtic salt? I agree with Lynn R. that you should listen to Dr. Flechas radio interview. The Iodine Investigation Project http://breastcancerchoices.org/IodineInvestigation.html has been following Iodine research for over two years now and interviewed many iodine-literate physicians, researchers and patients. Breast Cancer patients started this sleuthing but the outcome has extended out into many non-cancer issues, especially hormonal ones. Dr. Flechas' audio pulls the research together in an easily understandable way. Lynnelalala
Guest guest
Liz? TSH at 1.09 and FT3 mid low and FT4 mid range? Oh my goodness..... Those are hypOthyroid numbers.... I mean VERY hypOthyroid numbers. I wouldn't imagine you'd be feeling very good. Did you ever take desiccated thyroid, dosed " by symptoms " , and adrenal support? By the way, I looked forward to " detoxing " when I started Iodoral (pill form of Lugol's). I wanted/want all that nasty bromide, et al out of my body. Guest guest
Hi Sam, When I was on Xanex, I tried both Armour and Cortef. The Armour made me more anxious and the Cortef made my blood sugar go so low it was awful. I found out that the Cortef interfered with the Xanex and reduced it's effects, putting me into more withdrawals. I was already in benzo withdrawal hell. I'm not afraid of detoxing from bromide or parasites or candida or anything like that. I don't want to get into deeper benzo withdrawals than I am. This is a totally different beast. My GABA receptors are messed up from the Valium and the high doses of P. Some people can get off of the benzos easy, some can't. I"m one that can't. I suspect it has to do with my GABA receptors, hence the reason I"m sensitive to P also. But I'm going to keep looking at this iodine thing. Thanks! Guest guest
Xanax sucks http://www.benzo.org.uk/pix2.htm I just read the www.benzo.org.uk withdrawal FAQ and ohmygoD. Extremely informative. Odd about the Armour and Cortef. But how long have you been tapering? Are you off it now? The FAQ said slow tapers can take up to 18 months. Guest guest
Hi Sam, Yes, Xanex does suck, this is why I crossed over to Valium. They all suck really. I have been tapering the Valium very slowly since June 1. I'm VERY familiar with all the benzo groups, unfortunately I am down from 15mg to 8mg now. I have no idea how much longer it will take, some can just click away and have no problems, others have to go slow and hold, etc. I know way more about benzos than I care to know. It has been a bumpy road. I have not been stable for almost 3 years now. Since the WP disaster. I know my adrenals need help bad but nothing can be taken for adrenal support really that doesn't affect the benzo. I might try a tiny bit of something here soon and see what happens. I have all kinds of lovely symptoms. Sam, I think it's great that you went and read the info there. I'm in the process of trying to get a US based benzo website up. These are the worse drugs on the planet and are passed out like candy. It's sad how sick so many people are from them. Especially women. I am not against them, but drs need to be more informed on how REALLY addictive they are to the body AND how to help get their patients off, in a controlled safe way, if they need help. Guest guest
I'm another one who tapered off a benzo, I used the water titration method, which can be found in the files at the benzo yahoo group, I highly recommmend that method. There's a powerpoint presentation and everything, so pass it along to anyone who needs it. Helen > > Hi Sam, > > Yes, Xanex does suck, this is why I crossed over to Valium. They all suck > really. Guest guest
Liz, I experience huge anxiety when my E runs out. I have often thought I needed something for the anxiety, but the E corrects it every time. I have specific set of symptoms long before a hot flash occurs. They all seem much worse than a hot flash. I think they must be withdrawal symptoms. Things like panic, paranoia, fear, and heartburn. I guess they are all part of anxiety. I find many things cause the E to be negated. Armour and cortef especially. I still take them, and add more E at the same time. I have tried every E accept the patch, and it is always the same. Lots of E and I feel great, low E and I totally fall apart. I feel like an E addict for sure. I don’t know why I use up hormones so fast, other than I must take a lot of stuff that blocks them. Why do you have to get off the Valium? nne Yes, Xanex does suck, this is why I crossed over to Valium. They all suck really. I have been tapering the Valium very slowly since June 1.
