Guest guest
He's used to having chips in his sack lunch and I haven't found an acceptable substitute for that, yet. There is no acceptable substitute. & nbsp; All of them are loaded with stuff you'd never ever want to eat -- everything is artificial. & nbsp; Try making your own chips. & nbsp; It's not that difficult. Guest guest
Hoho, Melody, are you theones with chips in the lunch. you can make potato chips very easily but they don't travel well unfortunately. Just slice potatoes very very thin (not so thin as to make it hard to slice them; just use a sharp knife ifyou can get near one savely really). Caot lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt if you must. place on cookie sheet greased lightly with olive oil. bake at 350 degreees until crisp. i forget how long but it's not all that long. checkevery fre minutes until you learn how long. Yum. i love potato chips but now there are no safe mfg'd ones. This is great for an out of the overn snack. for those who allow themselves potatoes often or every so often. janet
Guest guest
Oh Melody; if your hubby has a microwave maybe he can reheat them where he works.ugh. an oven would be better but when desperation strikes what do you do? If you have leftovers, just reheat in oven for a few minutes and they crisp right up. janet

My husband knows how to make homemade tortilla chips, but they are deep fried which is bad for your heart and of course loaded with carbs. I guess nuts is the only alternative, but he snacks on them all evening. Melody

The problem is that any chips, homemade or not, are going to be high on the Glycemic Index for hidden sugar. The only alternative snack I can think for him would be nuts. He eats shelled peanuts in the evenings, but I guess I can get him some pistachios or almonds instead of chips. Hugs, Melody
