Guest guest
I have to agree with , no doctor should be upset by asking for a second opinion. Also, most of these referrals go through your PCP (Not your rheumy). When I went to Mayo, my PCP set it up for me. So your Rheumy does not have to set it up. Do you have a doctor or someone in mind? I know my Vanderbilt doctor does these (it's Nashville - I don't think that is a long flight) I don't think he takes too long to get into - but that may have changed. If you want more information on him, let me know. But I thought you should know this information regarding who sets it up. GP's won't give out MTX. It's up to Rheumy's, But I will say, that when I got sick, my Rheumy had me on that in the first three months, so I am surprised that your Doctor isn't trying that. Hope that helps, Alli
Guest guest
& Alli It is my PCP that refuses to refer me I haven't discussed referral with my Rheumy I haven't seen her yet. I was quite happy with her until she put me through all of this liver testing and then after being cleared to put me on MTX changer her mind. Also the Rheumy thinks it is AOSD as far as I know. They keep testing me for other things but they don't express in concerns about it not being AOSD I just think in my case AOSD may be the easiest diagnosis. <3 aka Jalee ..<>..One in a Million <3 <3 Female 25yrs old ..<>.. Guest guest
I only saw the first paragraph of your e-mail. My Rheumy told me she wanted to put me on MTX but was going to wait till I was cleared by a GI. Now I had all of these tests and a biopsy that basically said I will develop PBC but don't have the damage yet he let me go and said I was okay to go on MTX. Personally I disagree however I was going to go on MTX and then when my Rheumy said you have Raynauds she all of sudden told me I shouldn't go on MTX cuz of pregnancy and age. She told me I didn't need to come back for at least 3 months. Unless I felt it neccessary. i had an appt. to see her again on Feb 7th I decided to keep that and i am glad I did. I am going to have to get a diff. PCP first b/f I can get a referral but thanks for your advice. <3 aka Jalee ..<>..One in a Million <3 <3 Female 25yrs old ..<>..
