Guest guest
Hi, I've been reading all the post about ozone and the air purifying systems. I hate to show my ignorance but I didn't even know that these systems omitted ozone. I have a couple questions for anyone out there who might have a couple answers. Here goes: Could an air purifying system bring down the mold, bacteria, and dust level in a building from 350,00 cfu to 10 cfu in just 4 to 6 weeks? Thats 10 cfu not 10,000!!! From what I am reading they work well on cigarette smoke but our building is smoke free. One of the ladies that I used to work with (about the only one still communicating with me) told me the unit is a Sanuvox Ozone DUV Purification System R100C. She said the pamphlet states that the system "kills mold and neutralizes pollutants in the air and kills pollutants in duct work." The moisture problem that was present in my office was not corrected before or after these units were installed. I understand that the moisture problem should have been the number one problem to correct. Everyone in the building has been told now that the cfu counts have dropped so much that the air quality is no longer a problem. I've received some good information from this group that has helped a lot. I'm on workers comp, as you probably already know from earlier post. But since the installation of the system at the office I am being pressured to come back to work. My doctor will not release me on the merit of the latest test. Anybody have any comments??? Guest guest
Although hard to believe Yes it might really do that. But keep in mind that CFU stands for colony forming units, in other words living spores that were cultured in a lab setting under controlled conditions. I point this out because killing the spores is only half of the battle. Dead spores can be just as, or more, irritating than live ones. That may be something to keep in mind. If you want the total spores present in the air you must use a sampling device that tells you this. If the unit is doing what the manufacturer claims, then maybe the levels are really 10 CFU, but if the levels are the same as before that means you have 349,990 dead spores in the air. Also you might want to find out how long the samples were collected for, both the initial and new testing.

A woman called me last night who has just moved into a place she says has mold everywhere. I've been successful at keeping mold down by keeping air flowing (bathroom), and washing w/vinegar. So far I've no mold problems getting to me. But aside from my two methods of keeping it from getting a hold, I haven't a clue as to how to help her. It sounds like -- just from reading this message -- that she has problems well beyond anything I can help her with ... Any suggestions? Guest guest
> Anybody have any comments??? > > gave you excellent advice. Air purifiers sometimes mask the problem if work wasn't done to correct the original causes. Teachers in our schools that developed reactive airway disease have become so hypersensitive that they become symptomatic with only slight exposure. Often filters to air purifiers and air conditioners are not cleaned frequently enough and a new set of problems arise. Good for your doctor! Guest guest
, I suppose it is possible to get the mold under control with constant ozone use. But I would remain very leary of working in a place with constant low ozone levels with already compromized lungs. I agree with your statement that the moisture problem should be corrected in order to really solve this problem. And as I'm sure you already know, once your system has been compromized, molds are not the only irritants. Only a temporary back to work trial will tell for sure. Good luck. Guest guest
I've been using an ozone generator & accessories for various oxygen therapy protocols for over a year now. I was exposed to mold in early 2001, but problems in our apartment began in mid-2000. Let's just say that oxygen/ozone therapy will let you know just how toxic you are by the rashes & /or lymph fluid that comes of your body. I would suggest first trying a series of liver flushes because your liver is probably not working as efficiently, congested with all the awful toxins. --- In , " Page, " <pageang@l...> wrote: > Who has had experience with ozone? Guest guest
Not effective at the levels that it is safe for humans. Only test it has performed at was for smoke remeidation. Its an UNSTABLE molecule of oxygen. Oxygen is a bivalent stable molecule weith a bond angle of 180 when you add the addition oxygen molecule it has an angle of 120 which it is not stable. Its a respiratory irritant. Alpine was sued in federal court for misrepsentation, Bill COnverse the president of Alpine got SLICK and pulled a number. He divided up his company manufacuring and sales. SO he can not be sued if his little con artists make unsubstanial claims about the efficacy of 03. The FTC is still prosecuting sales people who claim its safe, effective etc. On Sat, 28 Aug 2004, Page, wrote: > Date: Sat, 28 Aug 2004 07:03:07 -0400 > From: " Page, " <pageang@...> > Reply- > > Subject: [] ozone? > > Who has had experience with ozone? Guest guest
Hi – I was going to write about my experiences using alternative medicine methods in about a month or so, but when I came across 's question about ozone, I couldn't resist. Here's my story: First of all, I need to make clear that the ozone therapy protocols I'm been doing for over a year now involves an ozone generator that is NOT used to clean the air of any rooms like the one Jules has (i.e. Sharper Image Ionoc Breeze). My ozone generator is the size/ shape of a closed briefcase, see www.ozonelabs.com or www.plasmafire.com to see what I'm talking about...in fact I've purchased many of my generator & accessories from both of these Canadian vendors. My ozone generator has 2 hoses—one is hooked up to an oxygen tank (refilled by any welding supply company) and the other is attached to whichever accessory (i.e. catheter for vaginal or rectal insufflation, modified stethoscope for ear insufflation, glass cup for funneling various areas of the body, " asthma kit " for lungs/breathing treatment, glass flask for ozonated water). Mid-2000 was the beginning of our nightmare. Hubby & I lived in a relatively new 1st floor apartment (we were 2nd occupants). In January 2001, hubby was sick for 6 straight weeks even with 3 separate sets of medications (the first 2 sets didn't alleviate any of his symptoms for the 1st month). In March 2001, we discovered long black mold streaks on our bedroom window. At the same time, water spots the size of dimes & nickels began appearing on the interior wall of our computer desk area. My exposure was significantly worse than hubby's because he was taking night classes Mon-Thur, then would stay up to do homework until the wee hours or not get any sleep before going to work the following morning. During the height of my exposure, my symptoms included: headaches (up to this point in my life, I rarely got headaches); occasionally have problems breathing (I really thought I was becoming asthmatic) and would have to go for a drive if standing in front of an opened freezer door didn't help; awake to burning sensation in both eyes, to which I would then rinse with bowlfuls of distilled water...this eventually led to a diagnosis of blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids) & conjunctivitis; forgetfulness/memory loss (definitely odd considering I'm close to having a photographic memory); what looked like hives on my face (diagnosed with eczema by an allergist); red splotch on my left temple (whom a nurse I worked with thought was shingles), itchy ears, weight gain of maybe 5-7 pounds even though my diet hadn't changed any, itchy scalp, hair loss/alopecia, wrinkly nails, yellow nails, rash on neck that wouldn't go away even with prescription ointments and other " natural " first aid like aloe vera, gum disease. I think it's fairly obviously that I was in really bad shape. We had to break our lease (after already living there for almost 2 years, which was quite a harrowing experience to do with the greedy apartment manager. She eventually relented after I more or less had to threaten creating a website and posting the photos we had taken). Just months before moving out, we later learned that the later phases of the apartment units (ours included) were likely built poorly because the builders had gone past their completion deadline. I had been seen by quite a few MDs (affiliated with one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States as ranked by US News & World Report) who basically dismissed my explanation of mold exposure as to the reasons of my diverse symptoms. The last time I was seen by a MD, I was armed with a copy of the Chronology of Events report we submitted to the apartment complex manager...she said she would be prescribing " a small pharmacy " (her exact words), but warned me to take the prednisone only sparingly. In 2002, I finally decided to look into good-quality supplements since although some of my symptoms were gone, I was consistently experiencing fatigue and low-grade fevers, plus had gained new symptoms. In April 2003, I purchased an ozone generator including accessories (mentioned in the 2nd paragraph above)—I was so toxic that toxins (I now know it's lymph fluid) & /or rashes were coming out from various areas of my body. I couldn't do ozone/oxygen therapy without getting such a severe herxheimer reaction and had to stop some of the ozone therapy protocols for several weeks at a time. By July 2003, I was in bad shape. There's no doubt in my mind that I would have been dead within 2 weeks, then I came across information about rebounders/trampolines helping move the lymph system (normally the lymph system moves once a day, but with rebounders/trampolines, the lymph system will supposedly move up to 30 times a day). Within a week's time of using a trampoline several times a day, I was out of the woods from being 6 feet under. For the next 6-7 months, even though I felt considerably better than I had in years, I knew I hadn't completely recovered (from October-December, I was able to go to work full-time and stay up as late as 10pm—a miracle in itself!). Sometime in October 2003, a nickel-size rash developed on my neck that wouldn't go away with prescription creams and natural treatments....7 months later, I tried ozonating rash area with the glass cup, next thing you know half my neck starts oozing for the next 3-4 months. And because I ozonated my ENTIRE neck and the only area that oozed was the rash area, I knew it was the toxins coming out! When my neck cleared up, I did my face...remember I had " hives " for months during the height of my exposure and that half-dollar size red splotch on my left temple. The worst areas of my face that oozed was the left side, which makes sense `cause the left side had the toxins (left temple)...it was a painful experience and took about 3-4 months to clear up as well (it cleared up on the 17th of this month, in case you're wondering). Now when I ozonate my face & neck, no oozing (toxins) occurs. In mid-January 2004, along with my ozone protocols (i.e. vaginal insufflation, ear insufflation, breathing ozonated olive oil-- " asthma kit " , and drinking ozonated water several times a day)...I added Rife equipment to my daily regimen. I don't really think the Rife helped much even though I was doing it for 5 hours a day (i.e. 2.5 hours twice a day) for approximately 4 months. A few weeks after taking an anti-fungal supplement called Tanalbit (by Intensive Nutrition) & another product called Biocidin (by BioBotanical Research), my fatigue & low-grade fevers stopped (either March or April 2004). I endured the fatigue & low-grade fevers for just over 3 years so you can imagine my thrill that I wasn't feeling horribly every single day. In June 2004, I had added a dry heat sauna to my daily regimen. Later that month, I started taking Chinese herbal concoctions from www.sensiblehealth.com to help my liver, which I suspected all along as being terribly congested. In mid-July, I did a 3-day liver cleanse (following the sensiblehealth.com's protocol) and began doing daily coffee enemas soon after. I noticeably felt an improvement with my digestion...specifically, I didn't feel bloated after eating (liver-related) AND my nails which had seemingly stopped growing had to be trimmed more frequently. At this point, I'd like to mention that I had occasionally been doing MILD liver cleanses (consisting of 1/3 cup good extra-virgin olive oil + 1/3 cup lemon juice) for several years but the 3-day liver cleanse in conjunction with the Chinese herbal concoctions is clearly a winner in my book. Two weeks later, I did my 2nd 3-day liver cleanse...my skin and digestion improved as well. An added surprise was my libido had increased. I just completed my 3rd liver cleanse and have yet to notice a difference mainly because I've been traveling quite a bit the past few days. I'm sure I left out some details, not intentionally, of course. I am not affiliated in any way with the 3 websites I've listed, except that I'm a very satisfied customer. I've spent thousands of dollars on various products, equipment and supplements over the past couple of years. Just over 4 years ago my living nightmare began and now I can honestly say I'm well on my way to full and complete recovery...that's the optimist in me speaking. Two family members who I've spoken with this month and had previously spoken to months ago (one in early July & another in late May) had commented that I sound great. Please note: This posting is by no means an attempt to convince anyone to try my above protocols and/or bypassing the medical advice from a licensed MD, it is merely meant to share what has worked for me. > > > > Who has had experience with ozone?
