Guest guest
I've got a weird minor billing issue, wondering if anyone has ideas for handling the situation. Patient has Medicare and, she reports to me, one supplemental policy. However, Medicare crosses over her claims to TWO supplemental policies, and BOTH of them pay her deductible and 20%. Patient swears that she only knows about and pays for one of them. This means that I have to send the patient a check for every claim (although I will save a couple up before sending it). Despite calling, I haven't been able to get either supplemental company to stop paying me. I'm tired of writing checks all the time....She's in fairly frequently. Help? Guest guest
She needs to call Medicare and correct it. I have a patient with cancer and Medicare has been paying everything they should and the supplemental has been paying the rest then as of November I get denied everything. Medicare states he is working and now has insurance. Of course he doesn't! He's recovering from cancer treatment! But they refused to consider they made an error despite admitting that there has been some problems when they switched their computer system. Pt later called and supposedly I can put it through after 10 days. Have the patient call Medicare. And I suspect someone is going to have to pay that 2nd secondary back!
