This has been happening to me over the past year. Just recently I had an

appointment with my counselor, my husband drove me. I always think about

what we talk about later in the day, I could remember being called back, and

walking to the car.

When we came home, I rested and when I woke I found steaks on the kitchen

counter. My husband and I had thought about going to the meet marked, and I

thought he went on his own. Evidentially we did that after my one hour

counseling appointment.

I've been told to keep a journal so we know how often this happens. If I

hadn't thought about my appointment, I wouldn't have remembered I checked

out for a while, same with the steak.

It's frightening. Maybe your son can keep a journal when he realizes time

has gotten away from him. Bring it up to his neurologist, they might want to

do an EEG to check for seizure activity.

I think this isquite common with Chiari patients. I know I " drift " ---- seems

like time manages to just get away from me sometimes. Awfully upsetting when you

try to recall " events " , and there is no memory of them at all. Hopefully your

son isn't working a job that this would endanger him or others.
