Guest guest
Because we give my dad (with PSP) Mucinex to help break up and clear the ever-present congestion, we have looked high and low for cough syrups that contain guaifenesin only. (Mucinex contains DM. And nearly all cough syrups contain DM, so we don't want to overload him.) In theory I know that there is a product from Robitussin called Robitusson Chest Congestion Guaifenesin Syrup USP*, but I've never found that in drug stores. The brand that I do find in all the stores is Delsym. It is 100% guaifenesin as well. It's cheapest at Wal-Mart and Target (compared to 's, Safeway, Long's, Albertson's, and Walgreens). * See robitussin.com/congestion/index.asp for a picture of the box and label info. --> you may have to add www to the front >7. Guest guest
Hi Robin, It is in all the drug stores in my area. It says Robitusson Chest Congestion Expectorant Guaifenesin Syrup, USP. All the other Robitusson brands say not to use for Parkinsons. You have to look closely it is there. I have two bottle of it on my shelf for Jim. On the front it says: NON-DROWSY Relieves: Chest Congestion For Adults and Children That is all that it says on the front. I live in California also, not far from you, so it must be in your area too. Guest guest
Quoting Janet Colello : Be careful and start with a low dose .. My Dad couldn't tolerate this stuff either - made him spacy. Seems like the PK meds don't absorb as well - and those symptoms become much worse. Later donna > Hi Robin, > It is in all the drug stores in my area.
