Guest guest
Jacque Clifton from Rose Hill, KS is absolutely correct in suggesting you contact your 307.11 project for financial help. Each state has a federally funded project on deafblindness - if you do not know the name of the contact person ask DB Link - they will tell you. And the project will be glad to hear from you. (If you haven't had contact with your 307.11 project, please connect with them - they have services for you and can be a good resource.) Every state probably has a different policy/procedure re: financial support, but it is worth trying. We are all in the last year of this grant cycle and most of us will have some extra funds that have to be spent by September 30, 1999. At the same time, there may be projects who do not have funds allocated for this type of activity. It will vary from state to state. Thanks Jacque for mentioning it - as a director of one of these projects I felt a little uncomfortable being it up - not knowing the policy of my colleagues in other states - but I was determined to find a way to tell you all - you took care of that for me. Guest guest
Loretta, Thank you for your comments. Helping our families to attend the conference is high on our list at the Foundation. Last week I sent a letter from Brownie Shott (who is our Conference Chair) to the 307.11 Project Coordinators in about 33 states asking for their help in financing families who wish to attend the conference in Houston. I hope making this contact will help families in their request for funds. Unfortunately the list I was given did not have the coordinators for the other states so I will contact DB-Link tomorrow and see if they can fill in the missing ones. n -- n A Norbury Secretary/Treasurer CHARGE Syndrome Foundation, Inc.
