Guest guest
Hello there, I've been reading about everyones problems with weight gain and boy do I know how everyone feels. Tryny is always battling weight. When I can keep him well (which is next to impossible for more that 6 weeks at a time ) he puts on a few ounces, but when he gets sick (there goes " pounds " ), and we never seem to catch up. But Tryny is on a mixture of Pediasure with Polycose added and that seems to be the best thing we have found so far. We've tried all forms of " super milk " (adding Carnation Instant Breakfast, Oil, Molassas etc). but our nutrician at Childrens in CA. put Tryn on Pediasure and adding Polycose (which is powdered calories) helps the most. And with Tryny being mostly g-tube fed, it seems to go through the tubing better (less clogging). And when Tryny does decide to put food into his mouth some days, we sprinkle the Polycose on it too. You might want to speak to your pediatrician about Pediasure with Polycose. Good luck to all. T.T.F.N. Debra
