Guest guest Posted December 9, 2010 Report Share Posted December 9, 2010 Maddy had a shunt revision 2 days ago by Dr. Magram,he said she was blocked. The pain in the back of her head has continued as well as other pain.Dr. Sun and Sue called yesteday from Childrens Hospital Oakland yesterday and asked if I still wanted them to help Maddy and see if he can help figure out if this is Chiari related. I told them yes so the appointments are being made for MRI,visit etc. I ran my thoughts by nsg about her pain and chiari but they said the mri from 6 months ago was normal so they werent sure what was going on,but werent willing to do any further tests. Maddy's pain was not controlled well. She has been getting lortab for about 18 months and it doesnt work for her anymore,tylenol and motrin dont help either and morphine doesnt last long. I asked nsg if there was a better oral meds they could try to help her but I guess there wasnt because she was still hurting. She was sent home today,no longer having a blocked shunt but still having alot of pain and there is nothing we can do to help her. We are just waiting for Oakland to call us. I will keep you posted.
