Guest guest
As you know Maddy has CM and was decompressed in 2007. They opened the dura but no patch was placed. She did well for about 18 months or so. In the last 18 months or she has started gagging some on food,or will hold the food in her mouth. She has been complaining of neck pain for over 18 months. The last few months she has been complaining more about her neck. She takes swimming lessons and gets very upset when they ask her to try and float on her back. She will refuse to put her head and neck in the water. She says it hurts. She has also been having the leg pain, lower back pain, headaches. She also snores VERY loud. Local nsg said the decompression area looks a bit snug still as did a nsg in UCSF. Is it possible that she is having increase chiari symptoms? Also if it looks a bit snug isnt that a bad thing. if you want to call me. ADDD6F65-1BEB-A824-2A48-BDE1F8F3B131 1.03.
Guest guest
Just realized I am double digit years past decompression(11!). Just thought I'd share... From my HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile. Regarding these questions about symptoms, I thought I would just send along this study: http://www.conquerchiari.org/subs%20only/Volume%202/Issue%202(5)/Wide%20Range%20\ Symptoms%202(5).html If you haven't read it, it's pretty interesting.... It's not real current, but I don't know of a better one that has been done since and I still feel that it is VERY valid... And yes, one needs to be careful not to chalk every symptom up to CM...On the other hand it can be overwhelming for people to have a list of " diagnosed illnesses and syndromes " a mile long...when it COULD be that they are essentially all manifestations of one...Chiari! A true double edged sword... Keep learning AMAP about the whole area, this is a " good thing " . One of the things that has kept me around for more than 20 years since decompression... Guest guest
Hi guys.. I'm hearing that some people are having trouble accessing this link...I am not sure why.... It does work for me... I guess the easiest thing would be to go to : http://www.conquerchiari.org Go to tab for " Education " Then " Research Articles " Then " symptoms General " Then down to " Large Study Reveals Wide Range Of Chiari Symptoms " ... Sorry this is somewhat cumbersome, but the search engine doesn't appear to be here anymore. ;-{ There is quite a bit of good information on the site...look around while you are there. Hope this helps, and sorry for any problems with the first URL...honestly don't know what the issue was.. Take care, Sally Hi guys...
