Guest guest Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Hi Everyone, I am a yoga teacher with a long standing anxiety disorder. I am looking for anyone interested in working through the book with me (Get out of your Head..) on a weekly basis maybe just for mutual support, encouragement, motivation, thoughts ect. I have been wizzing through the book at a rate of knots but have not done any of the exercises in any depth beacause I always do it last thing at night when I am knackered! I really need a therapist but can't afford one! I do a lot of mindfulness work in my yoga classes and it really seems to help a lot of people -I just need to learn how to apply it to myself a bit more. Also, has anyone read The Sedona Method by Hale Dwoskin. It has similarities with ACT in as much as you have to learn to welcome what is in the present moment and also identify which 'want' your feelings are coming from. According to the Sedona Method all our feelings come from either wanting security, survival, acceptance, control, oneness or seperation. It's good stuff but I wonder what it's limitations are. Basically it is just about learning to let go. Anyway, if anyone is interested in working with me in an informal way, let me know and we can discuss it further. By the way I am doing a lot of work from the Jon Kabat Zinns books and CDs as well. Thanks Simone Quote
