Transplant Update

Hi

Waiting for a TX is a really weird thing. The only way I can describe it is

like being 7yo again and waiting to leave on your summer vacation with just

hours to spare. You are just waiting on your grandparents arrival. You're so

excited your bouncing off the walls, you can't sleep, and any little sound you

hear outside makes you think this could be time to leave.

Only there is one major difference, you are not going on a trip to Disney World

but instead waiting for the chance at major surgery. The major surgery of

course will save your life but it still doesn't make you less nervous.

I am literally sitting at the computer vibrating......my nails are all bitten

off and all I can think about is getting that call. Im not obessing, but just

really hurting tonight and hoping that someday soon my lungs won't hurt so much

trying to take a deep breath. I am praying for that day.

When I was back in NC I knew I was active on Mayo's list but then again I knew

I wouldn't get "

THE CALL " . Now that I am here in Florida and minutes away

from St. Lukes, and that the next ring that the phone makes could mean my life

is about to begin, is just a powerful feeling I cannot describe.

The scariest thing is knowing if that phone rings in the middle of the night I

will know instantly what and who it is ...

The doctor told me that I'll get the call when I least expect it, when I am

sound asleep in bed and have plans for a full afternoon the next day.

So I hope that in the near future I will finally be rid of these dang nasal

prongs and trade them in for a neat stylish purse. Something I haven't been

able to do for 6 years.

I need to get to bed, as the doctor said, the call will come when I'm sound

asleep and

in the early hours of the morning.

Becki

Becki,

Hoping and praying for that call to come soon, and hten for a rapid complete recovery. I am sure your nerves are jangling. I know how I felt the night before 's heart surgery and I am sure oyur feelings are very similar. You certainly had a good descriptive way of explaining that feeling.

Loads of love to you.

Hi Becki,

Thinking of you while you wait for your transplant. Stay positive and just focus on all the wonderful things you will be able to do when you get your new lungs. I hope you get the call soon. Meanwhile you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love Bunny
