Guest guest
Hello and welcome. We have some good sample letters in our files section, but they are mostly sample appeals letters. Is that what you are looking for? Usually letters of medical necessity come from your pediatrician or your specialist. Have you seen a specialist? If so, have you gotten a letter of medical necessity from him/her? That should be your first step if you have not. I'm sorry to hear of the trouble you are having. It's really a shame that insurance companies drag their feet in covering things such as this. Let us know how things go. Guest guest
--- Beth Fisher McGregor wrote: Our 7 month old daughter was diagnosed in Novemeber with plagiocephaly, but luckily no torticollis. She has pretty serious neck muscle problems though - she can turn her head to either side, but when she holds up her head it always tilts to one side. We're hoping that as she gets older and stronger and through massage and pt it will improve. She is doing really well with the helmet and has adjusted and is sleeping better with it now. Beth, Welcome to the group. You'll find great support here. One question about your daughter's head tilt. Have you had a second opinion on a torticollis diagnosis? It sounds like she might have tort as my son was able to turn from side to side, but had a right-side neck tort and his head would always tilt to one side. He receives twice weekly physical therapy for this and low upper body motor tone and we have a regimen of 8x/day neck stretches to remedy the tort. It sounds like you have massage and pt lined up already and that will remedy whatever it is that is causing the tilt. Best of luck to you!!! ...Mom to Judah Dallas, TX
