Make your own-with your business name/contact info on each and every page. If you do use someone elses materials, check to make sure that you can at least put your name and contact info somewhere. FOr example, ILCA has a TON of 1 page handouts that you can print and reproduce as much as you like, and most have a little space on the back for your personalization-and they give permission for this. mom also has inexpensive info packets by subject, that you can do the same thing with. Some agencies don't allow this though-so check first-I don't know about League for example.

Consider this as well LLL, WIC, ILCA are all great info source, but they promote their organization, not yours-especially if you can't personalize their materials. It definately a good idea to write/create your own if you have the ability. If not, you could also use a writer for hire, especially if there is one in your patient population who will barter. This will allow you to be more specific for your own population and pt needs.

If you have a lot of handouts like Barbara, create a table of contents or topic list page so that your pts know what is in therem and access it sooner rather coming across it later. Use brightly colored (your business colors) pocket or file folders rather than white or manilla, so that it's visible on a loaded tabletop or shelf. Include at least 1 business card, clipped to each packet.
