That poor little guy. That just breaks my heart.

My girlfriends son also suffers from seizures and he doesn't have a

helmet, so I never associated the two. I am sure if her son could

walk, he'd have one, but he has severe CP and relys on a wheelchair.

I guess there will always be people who will assume such things and

there is nothing we can do about it, so to me it doesn't really

matter what a complete stranger thinks. Even if Makenna did have to

wear it for medical reasons, I would have to Not care what other

people thought then either... just so I could go out and have

a " normal " life. I am just so thankful that I chose to put it on her

and not HAVE to have it on her to save her life.

Makenna's clinician makes more prosthetic limbs than he does helmets

and he said that making helmets for babies, because of plagio, is his

favorite thing to make because he knows it usually has a happy ending

and while there is a chance it won't be as " happy " as some may hope,

there will be an ending.. While I was leaving the clinic yesterday

with Makenna I met a little boy (about 2 1/2) with legs cut off right

above the knees...... WOW do I have it easy. People can look all

they want. There will be an ending (and even if there wasn't) they

can kiss my A$$! :-)

, mom to Makenna LLUMC helmet baby 2/20/03 (and proud of it)
