Major aggression

Hi

My 7yo dd is currently having major aggression/violence; she is taking

zyprexa (5mg am), clonidine (0.2mg) and trazodone (50mg) at night to

aid sleep.

For the past two week or thereabouts we have been seeing a marked

increase in violence and aggression in the afternoons, along with VERY fast

mood swings. She will be happy and laughing one second, and a wild girl

the next - she runs around bouncing off the walls and screaming (no tears),

she will try to bite, scratch, hit, knock the tv through the wall (we have a

hole

behind the tv, and one in the wall of her room where she's slammed the door

back and the handle has gone through the wall). Things settle down briefly

after she eats. Now she has black undereye rings and bright red, shiny

cheeks. We have done GFCF, Feingold and Houston Enzymes - none

seemed to help that much.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on here?

On the plus side, she did take herself to the bathroom twice today, and she

will work fairly well with me on a 1-1 basis doing puzzles, looking at books,

etc.

HELP!!!!

How long has she been on this combo of meds? Sometimes they can have

the opposite affect in kids. Also, have you tried 5-htp for sleep?

Sometimes that can work as well/better than other meds. That said,

pls don't think I'm downing the med thing, my own Allie takes a

prescrip, just wondering if adding/changing something might be

triggering it.

One other thing is that the meds might have a base that she's

allergic to. My Allie was taking Houston enzymes and we had a

multiple food allergy test run. She scored highest in rice, which

she rarely eats. Then I realized the Houston Enzyme we were giving

has rice bran. If you were doing the meds while trying the diet,

it's possible you could have got some wheat in the medicine base or

some other ingred to which she's sensitive.
