defending those who hurt us

My mother always defends anybody who has hurt me. She thinks I should

be so understanding towards them...

One memory from my childhood has been especially strong lately. I had a

friend named Janie. One day Janie was mean to me and I went crying home

to mother that Janie had called me some name or other. Mother's

response was " Well, you're not perfect either! " I responded " I am too! "

and cried for hours. I mourn now for a little girl that needed comfort

and instead got more abuse.
