We are having our daughter tested, because she has so many of the symptoms. (RettSyndrome.org) She holds her breath, drools alot, has seizures and is regressing terribly. She has been diagnosed with severe autism. Most girls with Rett Syndrome are often misdiagnosed with Autism, until they are tested. We are hoping that she does not have this disorder as it is much worse than autism. Thanks in advance for any info you may have. Guest guest Posted November 1, 2004 Report Share Posted November 1, 2004 Sherri, we never had Allie tested as she does not exhibit the symptoms (no hand wringing, seizure, etc) but ther was a woman in our local support group with a daughter with Rett.
